The main defense department of Russia declassified archival documents containing the details of the first days of the Great Patriotic War. A virtual exhibition has been organized on the official website of the Ministry of Defense, which was called the “First Day of War” and which allows site visitors to familiarize themselves with the documents of the Central Archive of the Moscow Region.
From the message posted on the website of the Ministry of Defense:
Internet users will be interested in the first published handwritten original of the Order of the People's Commissar for Defense No. 2 of 22.06.1941, in which, following the results of the first meeting with top military, political and government officials, the order of urgent steps to repel perfidious aggression was defined.
In total, the format of the virtual exhibition presented about a hundred documents that for many years were not available to the general public. Considerable interest can cause not only domestic documents, but also captured German materials. From the trophy documents, visitors to the exhibition will be able to learn about the reports of Hitler’s military about the stubborn resistance of the Red Army fighters, about the courage and heroism of Soviet soldiers. The exhibition presents maps with notes of command.
The plans of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation are declassifying documents, from which many interesting things can be learned about the activities of the USSR allies during the Second World War. One of the directions of the upcoming new exhibition is a meeting on the Elbe, which is 25 on April 2015, marks 70 years.
