Dvukhsredny automatic transducer
Even before the start of the international exhibition of arms and equipment IDEX-2015 in Abu Dhabi (UAE), it was announced that the Tula Instrument Design Bureau (KBP) will present at this event its new “Two-Special Special Automatic Dispenser”. This weapon is intended for special forces of the naval fleetwho need funds to hit targets both in air and in water. Using a number of original technical solutions, it was possible to ensure the possibility of effective shooting in all necessary conditions.
February 23, after the exhibition began, Alexey Sorokin, director of the branch office of the KBP (TsKIB SOO), spoke about signing a contract for the supply of automatic teller machines. More than a hundred of these weapons were ordered by one of the CIS countries. It is not reported yet which country has shown interest in promising Russian-made weapons. Only the fact of signing a contract and the approximate number of ordered automata was announced.
The two-medium automatic tack machine gun was developed for arming combat swimmers. In such units, this weapon was supposed to replace both the MPS underwater assault rifles and the “land” Kalashnikov assault rifles. Because of the specific requirements, combat swimmers have to use two types of weapons, one for actions under water, the other for work on the surface or on land. This seriously complicates the combat work due to the need to carry extra weight in the form of one of the machines, unsuitable for use in current conditions. Automatic ADS, in turn, can be used both in water and in air.
In the late nineties, an attempt was made to create a universal machine capable of using both standard 5,45x39 mm cartridges and “underwater” 5,6x39 mm cartridges with a needle-shaped bullet. Nevertheless, the Sea Lion AFM-DT project was considered not fully suitable for solving the set tasks because of the need to carry rather large stores with cartridges of 5,6x39 mm. For this reason, work began on the creation of a new two-medium weapon and a special cartridge for it.
In the middle of 2000, Tula gunsmiths developed a new cartridge, made on the basis of the standard 5,45x39 mm liner. A cartridge called the PSP received a bullet with a length of 53 mm, which is recessed into the sleeve, so that this ammunition has the same dimensions as the standard automatic cartridges. 16-gram bullet is made of solid steel alloy and can be used for firing both under water and in air. On air, the initial velocity of the bullet is about 330 m / s. In water, the bullet is stabilized by a flat head, forming a cavitation cavity. There is a training version of the cartridge called PSP-U. It differs from a combat one in a bronze bullet weighing 8 g with a shorter firing range.
The ADF machine gun was developed on the basis of the assemblies and units of the A-91M machine gun created in the KBP. The weapon, like the prototype, is built on the bullpup layout and borrows some other solutions. ADS has an automatic system based on the vapor system with a barrel locking. An important feature of automation is a two-position (“air-water”) switch, which is responsible for the proper operation of mechanisms in the selected environment.
The automatic feeding of the ADS machine is carried out with the help of detachable shops borrowed from Kalashnikov automatic rifles chambered for 5,45x39 mm. In such stores can be placed as standard automatic cartridges, and "underwater" PSP. Due to this, the shooter gets the opportunity to significantly reduce the size and weight of the wearable ammo in comparison with the use of two automatic machines (AK-74 and APS) or a universal ACM-DT, which uses two types of cartridges in different stores. At the same time, the possibility of effective shooting both on land and in water remains.
With a total length of 660 mm, ADS is equipped with a barrel with a length of 415 mm. Weapon weight (with grenade launcher) - 4,6 kg. Due to the use of the layout of the bullpup machine, I had to equip it with the upper carrying handle, on which the open sight was mounted. If necessary, the weapon can be equipped with other sights.
According to its characteristics, the automatic turret machine using the standard cartridge 5,45х39 mm is similar to the existing types of small arms for this ammunition. In this case, the ADS can serve as a convenient replacement for the AK-74 series of automatic machines, etc. weapons. "Underwater" cartridge PSP provides destruction of targets in the water at ranges up to several tens of meters. The effective firing range of about 25 m is reached at relatively shallow depths - up to 5 m. When dived with 20 m, the effective range is reduced to 18 m. In combat effectiveness, the SRP cartridge exceeds the ammunition of the automatic fire fighting machine. When using both types of cartridges achieved rate of fire to 5,6-39 rounds per minute.
“Automatic two-medium special” is completed with a grenade launcher caliber 40 mm. The grenade launcher is mounted in front of the weapon. The breech and the trigger mechanism of the grenade launcher are closed with a plastic rifle. The grenade launcher is made in the form of a removable barrel, sight and firing mechanism. Unlike previous domestic grenade launchers, the ADS complex grenade launcher does not have a handle. The trigger is placed inside the trigger guard, common to the machine gun and grenade launcher. On the side surface of the grenade launcher there is a sectional sight for firing at hinged trajectories. The 40 mm rifled barrel caliber allows the use of all existing VOG-25 grenades developed for the grenade launchers GP-25 or GP-30. If necessary, the integrated grenade launcher can be partially dismantled. So, after removing the sight and the detachable barrel of a grenade launcher, the automatic automatic transducer can be equipped with a silencer or other special equipment.
The development of the ADF machine was completed in the second half of the last decade. According to some reports, in 2009, several new machines were handed over to special units of the Navy for testing. The weapon coped with the tests, as a result of which information appeared about its upcoming adoption. The new machine, which has higher characteristics in comparison with existing samples, had to gradually replace them. However, the timing of such a replacement was not called.
There is no exact information on the operation of the ADF machine by the special units of the Russian Navy. Rumors are circulating about the adoption of these weapons and the subsequent start of active exploitation. However, in view of the secrecy of the work of the special forces of the Navy, no confirmation or denial of such information appeared. During the IDEX-2015 exhibition, it became known that in the foreseeable future, “Automata two-medium specials” will go into service with one of the CIS countries. The unnamed state will receive at least hundreds of new machines. It is not known who ordered the underwater automata, but it is possible to make assumptions based on the geographical position of the countries, availability of access to the sea and the existence of naval special forces.
Anti-sabotage grenade launcher DP-64 "Nepryadva"
24 February, during the international exhibition of weapons and equipment IDEX-2015, it became known about the start of mass production of DP-64 “Nepryadva” grenade launchers. Pavel Sidorov, head of the research and engineering department of the Bazalt research and production association, said that the company had begun full-scale mass production of such weapons. Last year, Basalt received a large order from the Russian Ministry of Defense for the supply of new grenade launchers. What units and in what quantities will receive new weapons - not reported. It is only known that DP-64 grenade launchers are manufactured in the interests of the navy.
The current contract for the supply of grenade launchers "Nepryadva" is the first large order for these weapons. Previously, such grenade launchers were made irregularly and in small batches supplied to marines, border troops and other structures. Now the Russian defense industry has begun full-fledged batch production of weapons, which is likely to be supplied to a wide range of fleet units.
Grenade launcher DP-64 "Nepryadva" is designed to protect various objects from swimmers, saboteurs of the enemy. It should be used to protect ports, hydraulic structures, external raids, open anchorages, etc. It is assumed that the fighter, armed with a DP-64 grenade launcher, will be able to fire at the enemy, hitting with an explosive wave of ammunition. The range of this system reaches several hundred meters and is actually limited only by the capabilities of the means of detecting the enemy.
Although the full-scale mass production of "Nepryadva" began relatively recently, the grenade launcher itself was developed in the late eighties. At the same time, the weapon passed the entire test cycle and was recommended for use. In the future, based on their capabilities, some structures ordered limited batches of new grenade launchers.
The project of a manual anti-sabotage grenade launcher complex DP-64 was created within the framework of the Nepryadva program, the purpose of which was to develop new means of counteracting saboteurs for the navy. The design of the DP-64 project was carried out by the design office of the Mashinostroitelny Plant. V.A. Degtyarev (Kovrov). Now the company is named Plant them. Degtyarev.
Grenade launcher complex DP-64 consists of three parts: the actual grenade launcher and two types of grenades for different purposes. For effective use of the system of shooters must use high-explosive grenades FG-45 and light SG-45.

Actually DP-64 grenade launcher has two barrels of caliber 45 mm long by 600 mm. The total length of the weapon - 820 mm, weight without ammunition - 10 kg. Thin-walled trunks without rifling are combined into a common unit using three couplings in the muzzle, middle and breech parts. At the rear of the weapon there is a large block that includes a bolt with a locking system and a trigger mechanism. For loading the shutter unit and the trigger is made movable. To reload the weapon, you need to press the locking lever, after which the rear unit slides back and turns sideways, opening access to the breech breech. Having placed the grenades in the barrels, the shooter must return the shutter block to its place, after which the weapon is ready to fire.
For ease of use grenade launcher DP-64 has two handles. The front is mounted on the middle coupling stem, the rear - next to the breech. The rear handle is equipped with a trigger with safety clip. Above the bracket on the right side there is a switch responsible for selecting the barrel from which the shot will be fired. In front of the bracket there is a non-automatic safety lock that, in the on state, blocks the trigger. Due to the relatively high recoil, the anti-sabotage grenade launcher is equipped with a large rubber butt pad, which should absorb part of its momentum.
On the left surface of the middle sleeve barrel there is a sectional sight with the possibility of setting the firing range. The range changes in increments of 50 m. The maximum target range of the weapon is 400 m.
The complex DP-64 includes two types of grenades. For defeat purposes it is proposed to use the product FG-45. This 45 mm ammunition, weighing about 650 g, looks like a mortar bomb. It has a cylindrical body with a flat head and a conical tail fairing on which there is a stabilizer. To launch a grenade, a cylindrical sheath with a propellant charge attached to the tail of the grenade is used. In this form, the ammunition is placed in the barrel of a grenade launcher. After the shot, the cartridge case is removed from the open barrel.
FG-45 high-explosive grenade is equipped with a hydrostatic fuse, which provides for undermining the charge at a given depth. Before loading the weapon, the grenade thrower must manually set the depth of the blast, after which it can fire a shot. According to some reports, the maximum depth of the explosion is 40 m. Due to some features of the liquid media of the garnet complex, DP-64 cannot effectively hit targets with shell fragments. The main striking factor of the ammunition is the blast wave. Charge power is sufficient to reliably hit enemy swimmers within 14 radius. Thus, when a grenade is blown up at a depth of about 15, the enemy can be defeated both near the surface and at depths to 25-30.
The second ammunition of the complex, the SG-45 light grenade, is designed to mark or illuminate the intended location of the enemy. It has the same dimensions and weight as the fragmentation, but is distinguished by internal equipment. When falling into the water, a light grenade throws a special pyrotechnic torch. This torch, being on the surface for 50 seconds, illuminates the surrounding space with a bright red light.
According to some reports, shooters are recommended to charge a grenade launcher with two different types of ammunition before the duty. Thanks to this, the fighter will be able to mark the detected target with a light grenade and thus help his fellow soldiers in attacking the enemy using high-explosive grenades.
As already mentioned, until recently the DP-64 “Nepryadva” anti-sabotage grenade launcher complex was manufactured in small batches in the interests of various departments. Last year, a contract appeared to supply a relatively large number of such weapons and ammunition for them. The system should go to unnamed units of the Russian Navy.
