The Iraqi army together with volunteers knocks out ISIS militants from Tikrit - the hometown of Saddam Hussein

The Iraqi army launched a large-scale attack on the militant-controlled city of the so-called "Islamic State" Tikrit city. Tikrit is the city where Saddam Hussein was born. Iraqi media reported that the Iraqi Air Force planes attacked the northern regions of Tikrit, destroying at least 60 ISIS militants.
Iraqi citizens were informed by the authorities that a multistage military operation was beginning against the militants of the “Islamic State” near Tikrit - in 130 km from the capital. In the air of the Iraqi state television channel Al-Iraqiya, it was noted that the military is ready to repel Tikrit from the militants of the terrorist group, for which they are ready to act shoulder to shoulder with the Kurdish volunteer troops.
The attack on Tikrit comes from several directions at once. For the liberation of the city involved about 30 thousands of soldiers and volunteers. From the east, militant positions are shelled from artillery installations. Information Agency TASS reports that the militants began to leave Tikrit in the north-western direction in order to avoid direct confrontation with a large group of Kurds and soldiers of the Iraqi army, whose government declares its readiness to finally defeat ISIS.
The initiative of official Baghdad found support from representatives of a number of states in the Middle East. They supported the actions of the Iraqi government in Russia, also in the EU and Southeast Asia. The operation was approved in Iran. Only the official authorities of the United States and Britain have yet to comment on the success of the Iraqi army in Tikrit. Strange, especially when you consider that the US State Department has time to comment on almost any event in the world just a few minutes after this event happened ...
