The Russian self-propelled anti-tank complex "Chrysanthemum-S" became one of the main exhibits at the International Exhibition IDEX-2015, the corporation's website reports Rosteh.

Chrysanthemum-S is one of the main Russian exhibits at IDEX-2015

The complex "Chrysanthemum-S" was developed and produced by Kolomna Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau (included in "High-precision complexes")

“We decided to hold the first demonstration of the Chrysanthemum-S complex abroad on IDEX due to the great interest shown to it by the UAE armed forces,” said the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov.

According to him, colleagues from the UAE have already proposed to install the complex on their own wheeled platform.

“We, on our part, consider it possible not only to supply ready-made Chrysanthemum-S complexes, but also are ready to carry out joint work on the adaptation of combat modules to various customer platforms. “Chrysanthemum-S” is a unique modern anti-tank tool, so it is not surprising that in the Arab countries it has attracted attention, ”Chemezov emphasized.

The Chrysanthemum-S anti-tank missile system was based on the BMP-3 tracked chassis, which “allowed, due to the unification of components and assemblies, to reduce production costs and subsequent machine operation, provided it with high maneuverability, throughput, mobility and ability to overcome water obstacles,” says Rostec message.

The complex can travel over rough terrain with a speed of 45 km / h, the maximum speed on the highway is 70 km / h, the distance to be covered without refueling is 600 km. Time to bring ATGW to combat status - 20 seconds.

“Today, Chrysanthemum-S is the only anti-tank missile system in the world capable of detecting and destroying targets without optical visibility under conditions of smoke, fog and snowfall at any time of day, thanks to the radar and optical-laser channels. The simultaneous operation of the two channels allows the technology to conduct two goals and launch rockets automatically, ”the website indicates.

The complex is equipped with a unique radar. “A locator creates a radio beam that is invisible to humans and operates in the millimeter range. When the beam finds the target and the rocket starts, the hit is inevitable. Radio beam guidance is carried out without operator participation, ”explained Rostec.

The ammunition includes 15 missiles, which may be 2-x types: anti-tank (with a cumulative warhead) and anti-personnel (high-explosive).

According to the developers, “the complex is capable of hitting armored vehicles, including Tanks, engineering structures, low-flying low-speed air targets, boats and small-tonnage ships, enemy personnel (in shelters and in open areas) at a distance of up to 6 km. ”

Oh, there was a time in 2001, when under the Shali, we were shown a chrysanthemum in a portable version, not a rocket, but just a super aimed shot for 10 seconds and the target burns, it remembers the coordinates of the target and even if you put the curtain

And who wrote the garbage, in Rostec or the author.

THIS IS THE SAME RADIO RAY A MAN CAN SEE.

From "Chrysanthemum" it means he won't see. And from the S-400 he will see. And from the "Patriot" the United States will see as much as 100 km. And when he saw the Smolensk man, he would inform the air defense forces about it.

A good complex to contain armored vehicles. For Arabs, this is true because they have accumulated too much armor against each other. Once upon a time, this should lead to military disputes. For example, on the topic of the division of the Saudi Kingdom. wassat

It turns out that in the conditions of modern warfare, a tanker is definitely a suicide bomber, since the installation of systems on tanks operating according to the principle of our "Arena" is very expensive and the costs of ensuring the safety of a tank exceed its real use in battle.

As my fellow tanker said, in Chechnya the tank withstood an average of 5 hits before losing combat effectiveness. So tanks with modern defense systems have a high chance of surviving the first hit ... Another thing is that the Arabs basically as I understand the old modifications of the t-72,64, etc. not having modern protection systems ..

the nowadays fashionable principle is not "realized": "fire, forget" ....

      Read carefully before writing!

"Today" Chrysanthemum-S "- it is the only anti-tank missile system in the world capable of detecting and destroying targets without optical visibility in conditions of smoke, fog and snowfall at any time of the day, thanks to the radar and optical laser channels. The simultaneous operation of two channels allows the equipment to conduct two goals and launch missiles automatically, ”- stated on the website

      and more
“The locator creates a radio beam invisible to humans, operating in the millimeter range. When the beam finds a target, and the rocket starts, a hit is inevitable. Radio beam guidance is conducted without operator intervention", - explained in Rostec.

and you think before answering! "Consideration" if you have it turned on, then only by 50%! "Guidance ... without operator participation"; "... in the conditions of smoke, fog and snowfall" - have you heard such a phrase: "to promise, does not mean to marry!" - have you heard it? To a large extent, this is all advertising! Smoke, fog, snowfall are effective interference for the laser guidance channel. Snowfall can complicate the operation of the millimeter-wave radio-beam guidance channel. Artificial smokes, fogs are specially created as a means of counteracting laser and radio command (millimeter-wave) guidance systems. "Without operator participation" .. ... so the operator is still there or not? It seems to be! Then, naxpena needs it if the system is eerily automatic ?! Or is the system not "eerily automatic"? Is there any information that "Chrysanthemum" can launch and aim in motion? Most likely, from short stops ... and during this "stop" the complex cannot maneuver, "hit the road" for cover; that is, the principle: "fired - I forgot "not implemented (in the form as it is formulated in the foreign tactical and technical concept). The systems of the so-called technical vision are a discounted (cheap) version of the concept! (in some way, a" surrogate "). "that" Chrysanthemum "does not hit targets from above, does not hit targets, for example, over a hill, behind a forest plantation?

Comrad confuses automatic target tracking where the operator sits and does not breathe and the principle of "shot and dumped" when the operator took cover even before the missile hit the target.

You, my friend, seem to be an amateur, but for the unknowing you will pass for the clever. wink

Firstly, the Arabs themselves need and actually.
secondly, this toy is expensive so that they can transmit ukram like this - they cannot pay.
thirdly, as I understand it, when delivering weapons, the contract specifically prescribes non-transfer / sale to a third party with the ability to control the manufacturer (or in this case who will sell there) the number of systems at the place of deployment / storage.

The technique is certainly cool, to be sure. There is only one question - how to use it? If this is a battlefield weapon, then its base is perhaps dubious. If this is an airborne weapon, then it is quite acceptable. This flower is most effective in defense, and better in ambush. As an offensive weapon, its use is somewhat straining, sorry for the crews. "Terminator" on the battlefield is probably preferable.

After all, do not forget that this complex is capable of working for low-flying and low-speed targets ... and yet, there are plenty of missiles and other equipment besides one missile.
