President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he asked his wife not to congratulate him on the holiday 23 February. At the same time, Poroshenko noted that all other Ukrainian women should not congratulate their men, adding that “everyone is free to make a decision”. The corresponding video was published on Poroshenko's page. Facebook.
Poroshenko:
You know that I made the decision to declare the Defender of the Fatherland Day not February 23. We chose the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, 14 of October. Our Cossack holiday. I understand, by virtue of inertia, the perennial habit of a woman will congratulate their men. Here, everyone is free to make his decision, but the 23 February day is now and forever deprived of state-political coloring. My wife and I agreed, February 23 will not congratulate me, but wait until October 14. I think that others will follow our example.
And on the eve of Poroshenko said that Russia "destabilizes the situation in Ukraine as in Syria."
Syrian baseline scenario: to destabilize the situation throughout the country with the help of the occupying forces.
At the same time, Poroshenko said that the Ukrainian security services did not die in the ATO zone for the third day, but the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces published information about the dead ukrosilovik in the area of the settlement of Shyrokyne.
