From whom and why do Albanians flee from Kosovo?
From November 2014, the mass exodus of Albanians from the "Republic of Kosovo" began. Flight has the character of an unprecedented outcome. Albanians from Kosovo through the Merdare checkpoint move to Serbia and get to the border town of Subotica (Vojvodina), where they are trying to cross the border with Hungary.
When crossing the border on foot, groups are formed in 5-10 people who move in an organized manner towards the border. Officially, these are Serbian citizens whose documents are in order. Those who do not have a good deal with documents prefer to “go around” - hire guides through the forest zone around Subotica to cross the border. Most of the refugees come from the territories of Pristina, Vučitrna and Mitrovica, which are connected by the main highway Е80. The Kosovo press reports that the villages on the territory of Poduyev (through which ЕХNUMX also passes) are practically empty. Thus, the northeastern part of Kosovo, adjacent to Serbia, is becoming empty.
The European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the EU Member States (FRONTEKS) reports that throughout the entire 2014 year, the majority of illegal migrants arrived in Europe through the so-called. Central Mediterranean channel - more than 150 thousand people. The intelligence services of the “Republic of Kosovo”, published in the “Kosovo parliament”, indicate that over the past two months, the territory of Kosovo and Metohija has left more than 50 thousand Albanians, including 6 thousand secondary school students. Pristina media indicate that over the past six months, Kosovo has left from 60 to 100 thousand people (the population of the whole of Kosovo and Metohija is less than 2 million people). According to other estimates, the true state of affairs is hidden in Pristina, in fact the number of refugees is much higher, over the past two months 200-230 thousands of people have become refugees. Serbian Foreign Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic cites data that 60 thousand Albanians have applied for passports from the Republic of Serbia.
From Serbia, Albanians mostly travel to Germany, Austria and Hungary.
Joachim Herman, Minister of the Interior of Bavaria, says that “about a thousand people leave Kosovo for Serbia every day by bus and minibus to go to Germany through Hungary and Austria.” German media say that the number of migrants from Kosovo only doubled in January 2015 compared to December 2014. The German Interior Ministry estimates the number of refugees who arrived from Kosovo only in the first weeks of 2015 in Thousands of people in 18. The German Embassy in Pristina cites data that 20-30 thousand people leave Kosovo every month.
The two lands of the Federal Republic of Germany, Bavaria and Lower Saxony, turned out to be the most vulnerable to the problem of the mass resettlement of the Albanians of Kosovo. In 2014, asylum seekers in Bavaria asked 8 860 Albanians, and since the beginning of 2015, more than 10 400 has received such requests. In Lower Saxony, in the first 13 days of February, as many migrants arrived from Kosovo as there were in January from all other countries combined.
In Austria, asylum in January 2014 asked for an 54 person. In January, 2015, their number increased dramatically - up to 1 029 people, but only in the first week of February 558 requests were submitted.
The Hungarian authorities have taken 2014 43 asylum applications for the entire 000 year, while their number jumped sharply from September to December — more than 21 000 requests. Only since the beginning of 2015 has the 13 000 been received. Thus, over the past three months, according to official data, more than 30 thousand Albanians turned out to be in Hungary. According to the Hungarian police, these are mostly men whose age suggests their participation in the war and the presence of combat experience. It is alleged that the Hungarian security forces are able to catch only 20% of illegal migrants. It turns out that for the period only from October 2014 of February to February 2015, more than 150 thousand Albanian migrants passed to the EU countries, of which more than 120 thousand passed by any kind of control.
11 February The European Commission demanded that Pristina "stop the disgrace", citing evidence that the number of illegal migrants from Kosovo who are trying to enter the EU countries increased in 2015 by 40%, surpassing the number of immigrants from Syria and Afghanistan.
Albanians, leaving Kosovo, prefer to keep silent about the reasons for their migration. Or they talk about obvious things - poverty, the dominance of the mafia, lack of work, rampant criminality, but all this has existed in the "Republic of Kosovo" since the arrival of NATO (KFOR). The territory of the "Republic of Kosovo" is called differently - "the zone of absolute power of the organized criminal group", "zone of chaos and darkness", "deviant criminal formation in Europe." In the "Republic of Kosovo" there is no economy as such - the import of products is 99%, however, all this, we repeat, is not news. The only new is fear. Fear, according to Albanians, is caused by “people who are increasingly appearing recently in Poduyevo, Vuchtren, Pristina” and recruiting “Islamic State” to the war in Syria and Iraq.
There is a Kosovo Albanian exodus and a military-strategic aspect. US Senator Chris Murphy says that the US "will do everything to throw Russia out of the Balkans," emphasizing its satisfaction with the fact that "Serbia and other countries in the region have decided to stay on the Euro-Atlantic path and reaffirmed their commitment to this commitment ...". This, says Chris Murphy, "gives Washington a good starting position in the region." However, Washington already has a good starting position - the military base “Bondsteel”. And no one has access to information about what actually happens on the basis of “Bondsteel”.
No decision of the “Pristina Administration” passes without the approval of the relevant American authorities. Now Washington has headed for the forced creation of the Army of Kosovo. The US Department of Defense recently "issued a permit" for the transformation of the Kosovo Security Forces into a full-fledged army. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg recently visited Pristina, stressing that "NATO is building the capacity of the Kosovo Security Forces within the framework of the existing mandate." Pentagon spokeswoman Evelina Farkas, for her part, noted that the process of creating the Army of Kosovo paves a reliable path to NATO. We emphasize that the Kosovo Security Forces is the renamed “Kosovo Liberation Army”, a terrorist criminal organization involved in the sale of Serb prisoner organs, dragged into punitive operations against the civilian population. Washington is fully in control of this formation.
We note another extremely important point. The result of the next round of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina (February 9 2015) was the formation of a single legal space of the "Republic of Kosovo". The Serbian authorities, guided by the 2013 of the Brussels Agreement signed by them with Hashim Thaci in April, surrendered another position, having eliminated the Serbian judicial system after the liquidation of the Serbian police in the province. From now on, all the courts, including the four Serb communities in the north of the province, must function according to the “Constitution and laws” of the “Republic of Kosovo”.
It would seem that the Serbs should flee from Kosovo. They are fleeing, but there is no Serb in the new migration wave going in the direction of the Hungarian border. This is an exclusively Albanian action, which is truly new.
Let's summarize the preliminary results. The organized Albanian "relocation" of Kosovo Albanians started abruptly, for no apparent reason. The direction of the exodus of the Albanians is not Bosnia and Herzegovina (which would be logical), not Bulgaria, not Macedonia (in which the Albanians are now heavily buying real estate and land), but the north of Serbia, Vojvodina. From Serbia, Albanians are trying to penetrate into Hungary, Austria, Germany. However, there are taken emergency measures to expel illegal migrants. And they will be returned, according to the documents, “to their homeland,” that is, to Serbia. A systematic increase in the concentration of Albanians in the Serbian province of Vojvodina is already occurring.
The new “Albanian action” raises many questions. Who is buying up the property of refugees in Kosovo? What is the ultimate goal of the “Albanian wave”? Will only EU countries or Albanians with “combat experience” go to other countries? If the “refugees” are returned from the EU countries, will they remain in Serbia? What can prevent the Albanians from masses to settle in southern and central Serbia? Why are Albanians currently concentrating in Vojvodina?
The upcoming events will probably give answers to at least some of these questions.
