The Chinese Navy 9 February received the 6-th and the last in the Xian series destroyer of the 052С project (153 tail number), built on the new Shanghai shipyard Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding and Heavy Industry Corporation (part of the state-owned China Shipbuilding State Corporation) . This is reported by the blog. bmpd.

“The last Chinese destroyer of the 052С Xi'an project (“ Xi'an ”, 西安, the“ 153 ”airborne number has not yet been applied).” Photo taken at test stage in August 2014 of the year. ”

The first two ships were transferred the fleet in 2004 and 2005 They were built on the old site of the shipyard. Further, the construction was stalled due to the completion of a new weapons complex. The third ship was launched only in 2010 at the new shipyard. The final Xi'an series was launched in 2012 and was included in the Eastern Fleet only this year.

Further development of this type of ships became destroyers of the project 052D. The lead destroyer of this project, Kunmin, was commissioned in March 2014. The second and third ships (Chansha and Guiyang) are now undergoing sea trials. At present, at least 6 052D destroyers of the XNUMXD project destroyers are still under construction in Chinese shipyards.

052C type destroyers (Lanzhou type destroyers, NATO designation - Luyang-II) - a series of six Chinese destroyers. The first ships in the Navy of the People’s Republic of China with air defense systems providing zonal air defense and having highly integrated combat systems, a multifunctional radar with a headlamp and a vertical missile launch installation.
The design of the ship is based on a modular concept. The destroyer hull of the previous type 052B was used. The height of the superstructure is increased to accommodate four stationary headlights of a multifunctional radar.
Propulsion system - combined diesel-gas turbine (CODOG), consists of two Ukrainian-made DA80 / DN80 gas turbine engines with a total capacity of 48 600 hp and two Shaanxi diesels (Chinese copy of the MTU 20V956TB92 diesel engine) with a total capacity of 8840 l.
On ships of this type, 8 Chinese-designed HHQ-9 vertical launch modules are installed on each 6 anti-aircraft missile (total of 48 missiles). Six modules are located in the bow of the ship in front of the superstructure, the other two in the aft part of the superstructure above the helicopter hangar.
The overview and target designation for an air defense system provides the main multifunctional radar, tracking and target illumination in the X-band - a small radar with a headlamp located on the roof of the superstructure next to the aft UVP modules
Anti-ship weapons are represented by Chinese-made YJ-62 (C-602) missiles. located in the middle of the ship. Missiles are controlled using the Band Stand radar installed in the front of the superstructure above the navigation bridge and the Light Bulb radar located in front of the helicopter hangar.
The main caliber is a 100-mm universal fully automatic single-barrel installation made in China. The installation is designed for firing at ground and air targets, including subsonic cruise missiles. Rate of fire is 90 rds / min. The installation can operate in a fully automatic mode based on radar data, an optical sighting system, or in manual mode.
The ship is armed with two 30-mm fast-firing seven-barreled short-range artillery mounts of the 730 type with a firing range of up to 3 km and a rate of fire of 4600-5800 rds / min.
The main anti-submarine weapon is a three-pipe Italian torpedo launcher for anti-submarine torpedoes and an 12-barrel rocket launcher of the 75 type.
In the aft part of the destroyer, there is a landing pad and a hangar for the Ka-28 anti-submarine helicopter.
The destroyer is armed with a new Chinese electronic countermeasure system with a phased array radar for passive and active signal suppression.

The Chinese hope to seriously compete with the U.S. Navy in the Asia-Pacific region, and therefore stamped warships of various classes to protect their transport communications in the southern seas from mattresses in the event of a conflict with the United States.

I don’t know seriously or not, but it’s a severe necessity for the Celestial. In addition to the United States, China has difficult relations with Japan (its Navy is also actively developing), relations with South Korea are also strained, and Vietnam is again. Large maritime border and many disputed maritime territories.
In general, I am happy for the Chinese, I myself do not fully understand why ??? But glad!

The Chinese need a fleet primarily to protect their trade interests.
(India, the Red Sea, the coast of Africa, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, etc.)
and only in the second is there some sort of rivalry or disputed territory.

Our project of a new generation destroyer has not yet been completed. Project "leader" by what is already known represents a middle ground between a classic destroyer and a missile cruiser. It is not yet 22 percent clear, but it looks like the power plant will still be nuclear. According to the MO, 6 units will be built before the age of 16, although earlier they threatened almost XNUMX. But the development dragged on and the planned number was reduced. In general, there are more rumors and announcements about the leader, as well as about the armature, than the real information, it is not even clear at what stage the project is now. However, in the state program it costs and money is also provided.

We have, for example, the Admiralty Shipyards, and so they successfully rivet "Varshavyanka" earlier for China, Vietnam and Algeria, now for the Black Sea Fleet - 2 last year, 2 should this. Displacement 4 kilotons, similar to our frigates under construction. At the same time, they also do not forget about export, and in parallel for the Vietnamese, and later the Algerians are built. The deadlines are not disrupted, everything is fast and on time - maybe it comes out with us! But the frigates of project 11356R / M, it would seem, have already been worked out on the Indians - 3 pieces of the Yantar Kaliningrad built, but for us they are again delaying. I am not talking about the Far East at all - in St. Petersburg the Stoyky corvette was laid six months later than the Amur one, Perfect, in the summer of 2014 it entered the fleet - and its Far Eastern brother has not even been launched yet! The project is the same, the money is the same

Well I do not know feel I recall last year’s tank biathlon.

China has no such authority. Chinese soldiers have no authority.
Sometimes it’s not the combat readiness, not the number that matters, but authority.

Raise your hand, who worked on a Chinese-built ship? If anyone has worked, he knows what it is !!! Somehow I happened to be on a tanker of 50 thousand displacement, 2014, owned by the Danes from "Mayersk". This is the worst steamer in my entire 34-year marine career! It is made obscene, sloppy, ill-considered, something breaks all the time, every day you expect a breakdown. Unloading when all the main systems and mechanisms are working is a complete nightmare! And last winter we were pulled for 2 weeks in tow across the winter North Atlantic to New York due to a breakdown of the main engine, made under license in China - by the MAN Burmeister company, by the way! None of the sailors speaks well of the "Chinese"! Now "Mayersk" offers long-term contracts for senior officers on tankers - "Chinese" - captain - from 82 thousand euros per year - 72 days. at sea / 72 days on the shore! But ... better on "Koreans" 10-15 years old. Their construction quality is incomparable with the Chinese!
