Advisor to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky published information about the arrest of a journalist from Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Kotsaby. The journalist Kotsaba is accused of treason and espionage against Ukraine. Markiyan Lubkivsky on Facebook (quote LifeNews):
The security service of Ukraine detained a citizen of Ukraine Ruslan Kotsabu. Given that there are signs of a crime in Kotsaba’s actions, provided for in part one of the first article of 111 (treason) and part one of the article of 114 (espionage) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he was declared suspicious.
It should be noted that the journalist Kotsaba, who initially spoke in favor of active hostilities in the Donbas, recently changed his position, saying that it was necessary to boycott another wave of mobilization. Ruslan Kotsaba began appearing on Russian television, in particular, in the program “Special Correspondent” (hosted by Yevgeny Popov) on “Russia 1” TV channel.
Today, Ukrainian law enforcement officers report a preventive measure for Ruslan Kotsaba in the form of arrest. Kotsaba’s lawyer claims that the detention was unlawful and that his client has nothing to do with espionage against Ukraine.
