Obama also said that people have the right to freedom, which means that residents of south-eastern Ukraine also have this right. It also means that the inhabitants of Crimea had the full right to determine their own destiny. Whether they want independence or want to join Russia is their business, ”said Rockwell.
“The coup provoked by the American authorities,” Rockwell is convinced, “is the realization of a proven US political strategy when, under the slogans of freedom, independence or protection of rights, the division of the state is realized and it becomes a tool for realizing the goals of the West.” Therefore, when the US is talking about freedom, “it is appropriate to recall the many coups carried out under the banner of defending liberal values,” he said.
“The United States launches its dirty hands, disguising it all with protection (democratic freedoms), but in reality it’s not like that. Washington is always against independence and against self-determination, ”the expert said.
According to him, "there is no doubt the goal pursued by the West in the conflict in Ukraine is the expansion of NATO to Russia's borders, along with the weakening of the emerging Sino-Russian geopolitical alliance, the development of which directly threatens the hegemony of the United States."
“I believe that all this is connected with the desire of the United States to surround Russia, since there are two large-scale states in the world that are not subject to the influence of Washington - Russia and China. (...) Pay attention to the neo-cons. They want to break Russian statehood, to disarm the country and then turn it into another state or state with a government controlled, as we can see from some Eastern European countries. Will the US be able to get out of the water now? Not sure, ”Rockwell concludes.
