Ten reasons to go to the army. And as many reasons not to go.
One of the Ukrainian websites published a funny propaganda piece describing "10 pragmatic reasons to join the army upon mobilization." Potential soldiers are asked to evaluate all the benefits of participating in the ATO, as if someone were asking mobilized Ukrainians whether they want to go to war. Let's take a closer look at the advice, simply using common sense.
Reason 1: Money.
Prices are rising every day, inflation takes its toll. Even if the IMF gives us loans, the situation in the economy will not improve much. Extra income is the best that can be found during a crisis.
Comment: The government is ruining the economy, and ordinary Ukrainians are supposed to die because of it? The logic is ironclad. That is, by default, it is suggested that you accept the collapse of the domestic economy as a natural disaster. However, even if you survive the battles, “inflation will take its toll,” and your money earned in the civil war will depreciate. And there is a serious chance that your family will have to spend it on your funeral.
Reason 2: Saving your workplace.
Mass layoffs have already begun. Enterprises curtail production, massively reduce employees, “cut” wages, or switch to part-time work. Under the law, the employer does not have the right to dismiss a person called for mobilization. The best way not to fall under the reduction - to go to the army. And when you come back after the war, you will have a job.
Comment: The company, given the general trends in the economy, will most likely go bankrupt, and preserving a job at a closed company is probably exactly what you need. And even if it does survive, it is unlikely that anyone will wait for a person with unclear prospects. Most likely, another person will be taken in your place - someone who managed to dodge mobilization.
Reason 3: Career.
After participating in the ATO you can make a career in law enforcement agencies. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine never lived below the poverty line. If reforms are passed, security officials will have high salaries. If there is no reform, they will continue to take big bribes.
Comment: If you survive, then you can be a petty corrupt official, knock off trifles at the attendants in the market. And if you are even more lucky, then you, a participant in the revolution of hydration, will be able to participate in corruption and squeeze someone else’s.
Reason 4: Military specialty. In the army, you will receive a male specialty and you can make a career in the APU or abroad. If you get a wave of mobilization under 4, you will have a military specialty. The war will end sooner or later.
Comment: The war will end, and you will have the stigma of the punisher who participated in the executions of the civilian population until the end of his life. And it is highly likely that war criminals will be convicted sooner or later.
Cause 5: Useful links.
In your platoon may be an employee of the bank, the manager of a large company, a government official, but anyone. And all of them will be your best friends in a month. And who knows who your comrades will be in a year or two? Comment: And in a month most of them may just die, because they are killed in war. Is it not better to go to college? There are chances that your classmates will become successful, much higher. And if you run away from mobilization abroad, then it is quite likely that bank employees, senior managers and government officials, who are also fleeing from mobilization, will ride with you in the same train. Just look at the statistics to make sure that there are a lot of fugitives ... Reason 6: High social status. Already now, society has developed a respectful attitude towards ATO veterans. Comment: Each of you can look around and see the ATO veterans. And answer the question for yourself – is the government and society demonstrating a respectful attitude towards them enough. And when all this madness ends, it may suddenly turn out that your yesterday's friends will not shake your hand…
Reason 7: Fame and high popularity.
For example, a certain Valera Ananyev became the most popular Ukrainian blogger, received tens of thousands of subscribers on Facebook, got on TV and in all tapes News.

8 Reason: Even if you are a pacifist, or your religion does not allow shooting at people, do not rush to take a bribe to the draft board.
The easiest, cheapest, legal, and even patriotic way to not get to the front is to get a job at a defense company. Yes, the salary at such enterprises is not very high, despite the heavy work in three shifts, but this is not the front.
Comment: Does it even need to be commented on? Do you know many who want to choose slave labor in oligarchs?
Reason 9: Avoiding mobilization is not economically viable.
Do you think that if you brought a military commissar or a doctor, then your problems are solved? As if not so - corrupt commissioners and doctors are tried and put in jail, albeit slowly but surely. Now 4 is already a wave of mobilization, but it will not be the last. Therefore, it is unlikely to pay off once and for all.
Comment: There is another option - pay once for a train or plane ticket, and not suffer. And you don't have to pay bribes, by the way. True, it is not a fact that the EU will accept you, a principled European, but there are other countries on the planet - where you don't even need a visa.
Reason 10: Staying in the rear is also dangerous.
Comment: This is what is called "zdobuly". Hiding from the dangers of "peaceful Ukrainian life" at the front is, it turns out, the main achievement of the Euromaidan.
