Antisyrian syndicate
Four-day Syrian consultations between the internal and external opposition and representatives of the official Damascus ended in Moscow. Even the native journalists, who were usually generous to the praise of any Russian foreign policy initiative, reacted with restraint to them. And this is quite natural, since the only beneficiary of the event, by and large, was the official consultation moderator, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which increased its rating in the eyes of the Russian leadership.
As for the rest of the consultations, paraphrasing the classics, "the ceremony was solemn, magnificent and useless." Which, however, did not prevent individual enthusiasts from analysts from seeing signs of some kind of victory: “The very fact of an inter-Syrian meeting is already a result. Now the Russian initiative is a very positive factor; after the Ukrainian parochial problems, in which we dug, recall that Russia is a country of global reach, which not only draws lines between Gorlovka and Avdeevka, but also solves serious world issues. ”
In a word, the idea of the leader of the Second International, the German Social Democrat Edward Bernstein, that “movement is everything, goal is nothing,” lives and wins in our political circles.
Separately, it should be noted vague approval of the Moscow consultations from the very US Secretary of State John Kerry, who said that he had high hopes for a meeting in Moscow.
And even the State Department, which has recently been involved in everything connected with Russia, using the terminology of the Cold War during the administration of Ronald Reagan, has commented on Syrian opposition members to come to the negotiations in the Russian capital.
The calculation of the American side is quite clear: while Moscow and Damascus will be bogged down in consultations and negotiations with sham "oppositionists" representing exclusively themselves and a couple dozen like-minded people, the real anti-Syrian coalition will continue to kill Syria.
Negotiations with the so-called “Syrian opposition” are a completely useless exercise, since none of its so-called leaders decides anything. The structure of the international organized criminal group "killers of Syria" includes militants-Islamists, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and Israel. "Roofing" this killer syndicate Washington. None of these parties intends to enter into serious negotiations with Moscow, since they have already decided on the main point: Damascus Bashar al-Assad must fall. And all the disagreements between the participants of this syndicate occur solely because of the size of the share that each of them has already scheduled as a trophy.
In addition, the mechanism of activity of this criminal group constantly introduces an element of disorganization and the ongoing debate within the American establishment about what should be the "new Syria", Syria without Bashar al-Assad. Circles close to the current democratic administration, having never learned anything in Libya, Afghanistan and Iraq, insist on preserving a single state governed by enlightened and liberal supporters of Western values.
The hawks close to the Republicans believe that if Syria breaks up into several parts, each of which is controlled by one of the participants of the syndicate, then nothing terrible will happen, moreover, it will become even easier to manage using the principle of "divide and conquer" .
However, more than enough has been written about the role of Islamists, Qatar, Saudis and the USA in the Syrian events. But with regard to two more members of the Syria Killer Syndicate, certain illusions still remain.
Moreover, the fundamental assessments of the role of Ankara on the pages of the Russian officialdom suddenly lost their sharpness. Exactly after the public announcement of a new megaproject - the gas “Turkish stream” instead of the previously built “South”. As for the role of Israel in the war against Syria, and, most importantly, a clear assessment of which side it is playing in this war, this topic has never been particularly publicly discussed.
In a recent interview for the American edition of the Foreign Effects, Bashar Asad bluntly stated that the main reason for the ongoing war is that Washington and all members of the anti-Syrian syndicate flatly refuse to comply with Security Council resolution No. 2170 on the factions “Jabhat al-Nusra And the Islamic State. To make it clear what is at stake: this resolution clearly states that no one should provide these groups with military, financial and logistical support. “However, this is exactly what Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are still doing,” said Bashar Asad. “If this resolution is not implemented, we cannot talk about a genuine settlement, because the obstacles will remain as long as they allocate money for this.”
The war in Syria has been going on for almost four years. And all this time, Ankara, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the ruling party remain one of the main participants and inspirers of this war. Over the years, a completely startling thing happened: the war began to bring profits to the Turkish economy.
One of the main reasons for Turkey’s intervention in the Syrian events, why Turkish “Muslim brothers” from the ruling party supported their “colleagues” in the neighboring country, was the desire to prevent the construction of the Iran-Iraq-Syria gas pipeline and then to the Greek part of Cyprus. Had he appeared, and Ankara would have received two blows at once.
Firstly, the Greek part of Cyprus and its economy are a painful point for Turkey. The better there — and with the gas pipeline it would be like this — the more ghostly the chances of uniting Cyprus under the protectorate of Ankara become.
Secondly, if this project were implemented, Ankara would lose its monopoly position in the transit of Iranian gas to the “western direction”.
The current situation of the ongoing “war of all against all” in Syria is far more favorable for Turkey. Not only is the construction of this so “inconvenient” gas pipeline torn down and in the near future it’s not even worth talking about, tens of millions of tons of Iraqi oil and gas condensate instead of Syrian ports are now being exported through the ports of Turkey.
And the Americans helped their NATO ally: under the cover of the “antiterrorist operation” of the US Air Force, in September 2014 destroyed all refineries and GPPs operating in Syria.
The economic effect is evident - only due to an increase in transit cargo turnover, the Turkish government privatized its seaports at a much more favorable budget price than previously planned. But this is only one of the aspects that confirm the validity of the phrase “To whom the war is, and to whom is the mother native”
When they say that Turkey allegedly “changed” its position on Syria for the sake of cooperation with Russia, we are being openly lied to. Let’s start with the fact that during the negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara in December 2014, the parties failed to resolve the incident with the arrest of the military aviation cargo seized from Russia by Turkey in the fall of the same year. The same one when a Russian civilian airliner flying to Syria, carrying “dual-use” cargo – wiretapping and encryption equipment – was intercepted and forced to land by six Turkish F-16 fighters. Moreover, Erdogan made it clear to us that the detention of Russian military cargo heading to Syria would be repeated invariably, and the Turkish blockade of Damascus would only intensify.
By the way, to the question of "friendliness": at the same negotiations, Turkey firmly rejected the demand of the Russian president to ban the activities of the organizations of the Chechen diaspora on its territory and send the leaders of the Chechen militants to Russia.
Well, the final point about the position of Ankara in the Syrian issue was recently put by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who said in London that Turkey cannot stop the flow of people who want to fight in Syria in the ranks of the "Islamic State", which use the Turkish border to penetrate Syrian territory. And he added that Turkey does not want victory in Syria neither IG, nor President Assad: “If the international community is not going to send ground troops to Syria, the only alternative is to train and equip moderate opposition forces.”
By "moderate" he meant the five thousand militants that the United States pledged to train, arm and send in May of this year to Syria to fight against the "Islamists." The fact that with the "local cadres" the Americans regularly attack the rake - remember their "successes" in this matter in the already mentioned Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan - would remain a problem exclusively in Washington, if not for one "but." In his interview, Bashar Assad quite accurately predicted the future of this “core of the liberation army”: “If you bring thousands of people from abroad 5, then most of them deserts, going to the side of“ IG ”and other groups. This is exactly what happened last year. That is why I call this plan an illusion. Illusion is not 5 of thousands of people, illusion is the idea itself. ”
Therefore, when someone from the anti-Syrian syndicate begins to talk about some mythical "moderate opposition", we should expect the strengthening of the opposition "irreconcilable". What, in fact, Ankara has been doing all these years. And some friendly curtsies toward Moscow do not distract her from this at all. Empty words are inexpensive, why not say. Moreover, they are paying quite well for these words - after all, only for the verbal promises of Ankara to support the idea of the Turkish Stream, Gazprom has already paid a six percent discount on current supplies. And the bargaining continues, as the Turks want 16 percent. This, of course, is unlikely to converge in the area of 10 percent, but in itself a remarkable fact ...
And another member of the "Syria Killers" syndicate is Israel. In the interview already quoted, the Syrian president dotted all the i's where they should be: "They support the rebels in Syria. That's absolutely clear. Because every time we advance somewhere, they strike to weaken the army. That's also absolutely clear. That's why there's a joke in Syria: "How can you say that Al-Qaeda doesn't have air force? They have the Israeli Air Force."
18 events in January in the region of Kuneitra, when a motorcade of Syrian army advisers from Iran and Hezbollah was shot from an Israeli helicopter, killing the commander of Hezbollah forces in the area of Jihad Mughniy killed in Damascus in 2008 year) and the General of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammed Allahdadi, completely refuted Tel Aviv’s claims that it adheres to “neutrality” in the Syrian conflict.
However, only those who turned a blind eye to obvious circumstances believed in this. For two years in a row, the Israeli air force has been hitting the Syrian army. Two or three times - for obvious reasons, it is difficult to call a more accurate number of air strikes - the strikes were delivered to the warehouses to which Russian weapons had just been delivered.
Moreover, the representatives of Israel openly declared that they would not stop before the attack of the Russian base in Tartus, if the C-300 complexes were delivered to the Syrians.
In its traditional manner, Tel Aviv strikes precisely when neither Syria, Hezbollah nor Iran can respond to it. But even then, he loudly starts shouting about his own security and demanding protection from the UN, Washington and Moscow. Even Spain, never before seen in the anti-Israeli position, after the death of her soldier in the Golan Heights, recently blamed Tel Aviv for provoking new conflicts in the Syrian-Israeli and Syrian-Lebanese borders.
But can this embarrass Israel? He immediately declared "self-defense" and the intention to "ensure his security by any available means." It is quite logical to assume that soon the accusations against him will be dropped, as it happens all the time. And some formidable statements are no more than a traditional game, just as traditionally nothing serious ends for him.
Syria continues to kill. Methodically. Without pauses. Only the scenery is changing - they will send clowns under the guise of opposition to negotiations and consultations, then international anti-terrorist coalitions from the sponsors of the “irreconcilable” - such “bees against honey” - will be created. The change of these decorations does not change the meaning, the criminal syndicate does not intend to go on any negotiations. Its participants understand only force and tough retaliatory moves. To think otherwise is a dangerous illusion, which, unfortunately, will not shatter.
