Arkady Rotenberg, who is often mentioned as a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, confirms information that the Stroygazmontazh company he owns has become the main contractor for the construction of the Kerch bridge. According to Rotenberg, which he expressed in an interview with Kommersant, he is not afraid of the sanctions imposed against him and his business, and the project will be implemented.
Arkady Rotenberg said that he lives in Russia and is not going to go anywhere, and therefore the sanctions imposed against him have no meaning. Rotenberg said that prior to making a decision on the contractor, Stroygazmontazh, the Ministry of Transport considered various projects and proposals about 70. At the same time, the state set strict requirements for financing the project and its terms.
Rotenberg notes that he is glad to have the opportunity to take an active part in the implementation of such a project. At the same time, he adds that active cooperation with South Korean bridge-building companies, which are ready to assist, may soon begin. According to Rotenberg, an auto-railway bridge between the Crimean peninsula and the Krasnodar Territory will appear in 2018 year. The approximate cost of the project, which is spoken about in government agencies, is about 228 billion rubles.
