Russian paratroopers put ATVs and snowmobiles.

66
In the near future, the Russian army, including the Airborne Forces, will begin to receive snowmobiles and ATVs manufactured at the Russian Mechanics enterprise in Rybinsk, reports TASS with reference to plant manager Valery Karavaev.

At the end of 2014, the Ministry of Defense concluded a contract with the Rybinsk enterprise for the supply of special models of snowmobiles and ATVs to the army. In the coming 2 of the year, their 130 and 110 units will be transferred, respectively.

“The new order of the Ministry of Defense will support the stable operation of the enterprise and ensure a decent wage level for its employees,” said Karavayev.

In addition, 22 in January was attended by the Airborne Forces Commander Vladimir Shamanov and the Governor of the Yaroslavl Region Sergey Yastrebov. The general himself appreciated the possibilities of technology.

“After the test drive, the commander of the Airborne Forces set before his subordinates the task of developing a technical task of adapting snowmobiles for the Airborne Forces, including the possibility of paratroops to be landed,” said Governor’s spokesman Alexander Shikhanov. “It has been decided that airborne units will use snowmobiles during exercise and performance tasks.”

What’s the thing about landing? When every kg is registered, who will drive an extra plane to throw ATVs? And where do you go on such a rattle in the rear of the enemy? And most importantly, how long will you go until you shoot?
Judging by the limited lot, the cars will go to the new northern bases. There they really are needed ...

After the civilian carts were abandoned. How to use an ATV in a paratrooper war?

Almost all Scandinavians in the armies have snowmobiles. Not adapted civilian versions, namely designed for the military on the basis of civilian models. They carry special sledges, there are options for mounting various types of weapons and cargo on them.
Even when I was serving, our ORR division drove on "Burans", there were 3 pieces for a test. It turned out to be unreliable and inconvenient.
If you need to argue - not needed ... the tasks are different. But it’s better to figure it out for yourself when looking at the first video you get - but how is it on such a snow to the waist in the snow with foot, or skiing? Yes with a backpack and weapons?

I read somewhere the calculations of the Tsrushny analysts, together with consultants from the US Special Forces, about the delivery of limited strikes against Iran. So they estimated the result of the successful outcome of the operation (landing of special forces, targeting, infiltration) at 30 percent. They calculated that the main smut and losses will be from the so-called moto cavalry, in Iran it is in service besides jeeps and quadras with machine guns, there are still a lot of "mosquitoes" on sports motorcycles with machine guns and machine guns. So, according to the mind of a quadra, it is a very necessary thing, you just need competent tactics their use, and what about the noise, if they put mufflers on helicopters, then God himself commanded them.

Our army is full of combat vehicles with protection from bullets and splinters on a caterpillar track, while they are all-weather. There are also special ones for the Arctic. And minus these snowmobiles - the inability to ride them at temperatures minus thirty or lower. In any clothes - after 10 minutes an ice corpse. Remember, in the USSR there were snowmobiles for the Arctic, they had a completely closed cabin.

He said that there is a special suit with electric heating, connected to the snowmobile and there is a transparent fairing that closes the driver from the front hemisphere almost entirely. Then I was stunned by something from this ... It seems like a Canadian snowmobile. but I can lie too. He stood at the time (about 6 years ago), like a foreign car of the middle hand ...

Borders do not complain, but they have been driving such a technique for a long time. In short, all these "bells and whistles" are not a show at all, but a necessity. By the way, civilians may be interested, and the larger the series, the cheaper.

I myself use a snowmobile of their production for the fourth year. The only concern is the fact that many imported components are used among the components (in fact, from experience, I can say that this is the fundamental reason for their reliability) components. For example, the carburetor is Japanese, the ignition is Italian, the CPG is German. At the output, we still get dependence on imports ????

Both types of equipment for scouts are a sweet deal. It consumes little fuel, a large power reserve (and if you still have to take another canister with you wink ), the speed and throughput is excellent.

I apologize for being off topic. But,
"The crash of a Greek NATO fighter jet in Spain killed 10 people and injured 13 more," Reuters reported. The F-16 crashed shortly after takeoff at a training center in Albacete, 262 kilometers southeast of Madrid. The Defense Ministry said that a plane participating in NATO's tactical leadership program lost control during takeoff and crashed into an aircraft parking lot. The scene is now cordoned off with fire brigades. "

Well, what's so funny? You can study the statistics of Russian disasters for a year, not fun. One thing pleases - in quantitative terms, Russia is in the red as compared to the "partners", in terms of losses. hi

Quadric is Chinese, they are collected from us, slightly strengthening the design. More than 2 seasons do not go, the iron is bad.

And where in the army is such junk? You can’t supply the military with equipment whose quality is poor.

Why Chinese? RM makes its quadrics, and even those productions that are in Russia, almost all joint with the Chinese or Koreans. And China knows how to improve its products, compare their cars five years ago, and now. The difference is between shit and candy. smile

But there is a chance that, based on the experience of army operation, the quality will be tightened, and if you look, they will develop their own, reliable device.

The main thing is that all sorts of bureaucrats "by informal agreement" do not let some kind of Mr., for which the state will pay and because of which the fighters will have to suffer later.

Well, yes, they didn't really manage Kalash, S-300 copies "spit" sometimes, there are no engines on fighters, TU-16 is the main missile carrier, I keep quiet about armored vehicles, I don't want to swear, the copy of iPhone flies in a month, the satellite is not clear where it hovers (but there is communication) ...
And the cars, excuse me, are shit and remain on copies and lines of Japanese and Korean. Well, a vaz can argue.
Yes, China is a great country, but in some 10 years they have overtaken the technology of the USSR in science-intensive industries!
And you won’t be full of super panels made by the Japanese lines.

"It was decided that the Airborne Forces will use snowmobiles during exercises and performing official tasks."

The snowmobile is beautiful in appearance ... During the exercises, it will find application even for the operational communication of units and duplication of teams ...
There are questions about official tasks, for example, when landing under heavy enemy fire ... Perhaps the costs of the "soft landing system" will surpass the effect of landing the snowmobiles themselves ...
Let's see what the designers come up with ...

And what a hell of a landing party, but in general there is such a technique in the army, especially "capricious", generals to hunt to dangle, but to roll a VPZh?
