Western media: Kazakhstan accepts five Guantanamo prisoners
36
Information Agency Reuters reports that five prisoners of the American prison Guantanamo are being transferred to Kazakhstan. The agency writes about the transfer to Kazakhstan of two Tunisians and three citizens of the state of Yemen. Other news agency - France-Presse confirms the information about the transfer of five prisoners to the territory of Kazakhstan.
FP states that the decision to transfer prisoners of Yemeni and Tunisian origin from Guantanamo (Cuba) to Kazakhstan was "made unanimously." At the same time, it is not specified who specifically mentioned the unanimity was noted between.
In addition, it is not reported whether these prisoners will be held in the prisons of Kazakhstan or, through Kazakhstan, they will be released to their homeland.
A few days ago, US President Barack Obama reiterated that the Guantanamo prison should be disbanded. Judging by the information received, the disbandment is somewhat strange: the US “shoves” prisoners in other countries. One, for example, agreed to "shelter" in one of her prisons Estonia. If Kazakhstan also decided to contain prisoners in prisons located on its territory, then questions arise to the leadership of Kazakhstan ...
To date, 127 people are being held in Guantanamo USA prison.
