The reason is that, according to Pankov, for the first time in stories The number of contract soldiers in the army exceeded the number of recruits. The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defense said that the number of servicemen serving under the contract reached 295 thousand.

Plans ministries of defense - an increase in the number of contract servicemen in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation by the end of next year to 352 thousand. If the plans of the main defense ministry are respected, then the calling bar (by the number of recruits) in the structures of the Ministry of Defense will be reduced from year to year. As a result (by the end of 2020), the number of contract servicemen in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is planned to be brought to 535 by thousands of people.

The total number of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation should be a million 2020 by the 1 year mentioned. At the same time, the group of military recruits will be the smallest in all recent years due to the increase in the number of contract posts.

The Ministry of Defense notes that the increase in the number of contract servicemen in the Russian army was positively influenced by special actions that the Russian Defense Ministry is conducting in different cities of the country. One of these actions recently took place in the hero-city of Sevastopol.
