The US military showed the concept of a combat vehicle that combines the blast wave reflection technology and security features of commercially available NASCAR trucks and racing cars. The car is made on the basis of the Ford F-350 truck body, it is called ULTRA AP (Armored Patrol - armored patrol). Its creators combined some of the newest advances in vehicle protection with maneuverability and security elements of a “ready” truck and developed a concept car that could one day replace a well-known Humvee vehicle on the battlefield.

We have RPG here, colleague. With an open door the width of Narva Gate, it’s enough to spit there - you won’t miss. And do not need to punch anything - they will drown themselves, and all at once. smile And I also liked the coffin-shaped holes on the radiator grill. This pepelats is best suited for dispersing demonstrations in Ferguson. Creative. Or in Hollywood for movies - fantasy. Well, as a combat vehicle, you can bring Coca-Cola to warehouses far beyond the front line.

Judging by the complexity of the "capsule of life", it was clearly not assembled on the knee. The further the crew is from the wheel and the place of detonation, the more chances to survive.

The only sense is that the Americans do not stop and are constantly looking for technical solutions, but the fact that the lunar rover has turned out is not a problem. Excellent visibility (all-round), mine protection probably there .... From what caught my eye - the complexity of the exit for the driver. The ability to transport troops from 2 x under armor and up to 4 in the back (if I understood everything correctly) or the ability to place heavy weapons in the form of a mortar or recoilless. Interesting car .....

Even before the war in the USSR, reinforced concrete armor was tested as a mobilization option. And in 1943 reinforced T-34 mounted screens made of concrete. So there is nothing new here.

The car is made on the basis of the supporting body of the truck Ford F-350
Only now, the truck Ford F-350 does not have a supporting body - the frame.

Here's how an infantryman will be selected from this space apparelli? And the steering wheel and traction, some servos - some terrible horror. And if under fire? And if injured? Concussed? In short, only for Hollywood entot scooter.

      Cool lunar rover.
It is difficult to judge the performance characteristics of a pair of photos.
But as they have already noticed:
      1. Fast entry / exit is difficult for the driver.
      2. If the passenger is injured, then the driver will get out even sweeter.
      3. Leaving the car with side-shelling is problematic for at least one passenger - who is on the line of fire. In the same Hammer, it was easier due to the accessibility of doors both to the right and to the left. There is no such luxury here.

Judging by the armored capsule, when detonated by a large land mine, it breaks away from the chassis frame and tumbles like a soccer ball.

However, the unit is funny, think up.

Opening the doors up is controversial in my opinion:
        1. The armored door means heavy.
        2. Since it opens in its entirety, that is, with one piece, the mechanism springs are unlikely to lift it in 1-1.5 seconds. And this time under fire when leaving or a long pause during emergency loading.
        3. When opened, first under fire, the lower half of the body is obtained. Until the door opens enough for the passenger to shoot back, he will be riddled with heels to the solar plexus. True throwing a grenade inside is unrealistic.
        4. If, by an explosion or for any other reason, the mechanism for raising the door deteriorates, it will be physically very difficult to open it. At least much more complicated than opening to the side.
        5. Using an open door as a cover is not possible.

everything is very simple .... The engine and axles are the same, forced V10 6.7 liters, 355 hp from the factory. And the engine is 50% success. And the base is not a frame .....

Good stuff. The perfect solution for a patrol car. All crew members are provided with an excellent overview. Modern cars of this class do not provide this.
In addition, a machine of such a scheme will be able to far overtake the existing lightweight MRAP in mine resistance.

This machine is unlikely to replace the Humvee, but for military police units and for the Stabilization Forces this is an excellent solution

In addition, a machine of such a scheme will be able to far overtake the existing lightweight MRAP in mine resistance.
Which side? The shape of the capsule and the frame will be able to effectively preserve only the shape and geometric dimensions of this capsule when undermining. But the mass and its attachment to the chassis make you think about what will become of the crew from vigorous shaking of the blast wave. Even completely crucified by belts in the seats, passengers while tumbling in the air of such a lightweight design will be disturbed.
In Formula 1, in the monocoque of pilots, sausages are of course even stronger when the car is destroyed. But there the pilot recorded everything totally, including the neck and head. When conducting combat operations on a subject, such a fixed landing is unacceptable.
Hammer's chopped "cube", in the event of a serious detonation, is less prone to a long somersault. The same machine will roll like a ball and shake the contents.

We cannot compare the masses yet. No data.
What do you think will happen, for example, with the crew of Hammer and this bun in the explosion under the front wheels?

This door still needs to be opened somehow, and given the number of different rods outside the doors (if they are damaged by shelling or explosion), this may not work. So the Papuans will drive off after the blast, the battered armored capsule with the living crew inside to their camp and people will be hatching there.
ps Although in the desert, this thing will certainly clear off.

And what kind of scheme? by what? They all (well, almost all) are made according to the same scheme. A civilian frame with a chassis (with minor modifications) and a military "naplobuchku" on it (there really is anyone in that much) and voila! another wunderwolf um Kampf bereit!

Given that their fiction is ahead of reality, apparently somewhere similar on the screen flickered. In terms of visibility, there is something doubt that it is good, the only advantages of such glazing are that damage to one of them will obviously not strongly affect both visibility and the degree of protection. and of course it’s easier to replace it.
