Development of the promising Barguzin BZHRK continues

100
On the eve of the Strategic Missile Forces Day, several Newsconcerning the further development of this type of troops. In parallel with the operation of existing missile systems, it is planned to create new ones. One of the new projects involves the creation of a military railway missile complex (BZHRK). In the past few days, a series of reports have appeared on the progress of this project.

On December 16, Colonel-General Sergei Karakayev, Commander-in-Chief of the Strategic Missile Forces, spoke about various aspects of the work and development of a kind of troops, and also touched on the topic of promising projects. According to him, in accordance with the instructions of the President, it is planned to create a new BZHRK, designed to complement existing rocket systems. The project received the symbol "Barguzin". The development of this complex is carried out exclusively by Russian enterprises. BZHRK "Barguzin" should combine the most advanced achievements of national science and technology.

S. Karakaev noted that the Barguzin complex will embody a positive experience in the development and operation of the previous system of this class - the Molodets BZHRK 15P961. Creating a new railroad missile system will fully restore the composition of the strike force of the strategic missile forces. Thus, the latter will include mining, soil and railway missile systems.

The development of the project “Barguzin” is carried out by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering (MIT). Over the past decades, this organization has created several types of missile systems for various purposes. Thus, the Strategic Missile Forces are operated by the Topol, Topol-M and Yars missiles developed at MIT, while the newest submarines of the Borey 955 project carry the Bulava missiles. Soon the list of complexes created by MIT specialists should be updated with another entry.

S. Karakaev said that the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering has completed the draft design of the Barguzin BZHRK. Now MIT employees have started preparing design documentation. Thus, the creation of a new missile complex has entered the main phase. The “Barguzin” complex should surpass the “Well done” system in its characteristics. Design characteristics will allow him to remain in service, at least until 2040 year.

For obvious reasons, the technical details of the new project remain unknown. Nevertheless, the press is trying to find out what the new railway missile complex will be like. Interesting information recently published a publication "Gazeta.ru". The publication, referring to an unnamed source in the defense industry, reveals some of the details of the new project.

According to the source, when creating a new BZHRK, some of the best practices of the Good system are used. In this case, however, the complex should receive a completely new rocket, which does not have a direct relationship to the product used in the old complex. The rocket for the new complex is created on the basis of the Yars rocket, now supplied to the Strategic Missile Forces. The design of the product will undergo some changes, but will have a great similarity with the base.

It should be noted, information about the construction of a new railway complex based on the developments under the Yars project appeared at the end of last year. A year ago, on the eve of the Day of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel-General S. Karakayev spoke about the methods of creating a new rocket technology. At the same time, the Commander-in-Chief of the Strategic Missile Forces noted that the launch weight of the new missile should not exceed 47 tons, and the dimensions should be in line with the size of standard railway cars.

The relatively low weight of the rocket is an important feature of the new BZHRK, which distinguishes it from the “Well done” and gives an advantage over it. The 15IX62 missiles weighed more than 100 tons, which is why the car with the launcher was equipped with special equipment to distribute the load on the neighboring cars. Such a design of the aggregates of the complex made it possible to bring the load on the way to acceptable values. The use of a much lighter rocket will allow you to do without the complex systems connecting the cars and redistributing the load.

Last year S. Karakayev also said that the new project BZHRK will be completed by the end of this decade. Thus, the strategic missile forces will receive a new technique by 2020 year.

Since the appearance of the first reports about the beginning of the development of a new combat railway missile complex, about two years have passed. During this time, several options have emerged for the possible appearance of a promising weapon system. Most likely, the new architecture of Barguzin will be very similar to the “Well done” complex in terms of overall architecture and appearance. In view of the need for masking, the missile system should look like an ordinary train with passenger and cargo cars, inside which all the necessary equipment will be placed.

The Barguzin missile system should include several locomotives, several cars to accommodate the crew and special equipment, as well as special cars with missile launchers. Launchers BZHRK "Molodets" were disguised as refrigerated cars. Probably, "Barguzin" will get similar units. According to the available data, the main element of the complex, the rocket, is developed on the basis of the Yars product, due to which, according to its capabilities, the railway complex will be approximately equal to the ground-based Yars.

The well-known characteristics of the RS-24 “Yars” rocket make it possible to approximately imagine what the Barguzin BZhRK rocket will be like. The Yars product has three stages, the total length is about 23 m. The starting weight is estimated at 45-49 t. The maximum launching range reaches 11 thousand km. Detailed information about the combat equipment is not available. According to various sources, the PC-24 rocket carries a split head with 3-4 warheads of individual guidance. Rocket "Yars" can be used with both mine and mobile launchers.

Like the existing mobile ground-based missile systems, railway systems have high mobility. However, the use of the existing railway network provides the BMRD with a much greater strategic mobility, since the composition with the missiles, if necessary, can be transferred to the necessary area. Given the size of the country, this possibility increases the already considerable range of the missiles.

According to the information announced, the new Barguzin BZHRK will be ready by the end of this decade. By this time, the preparation of infrastructure for new missile systems should begin. The estimated characteristics of the complex will allow it to operate for more than two decades.

It seems to me that they would have asked Yeltsin to remove Lenin from Red Square, he would have done it. But our friends from NATO were in a hurry to deal with more dangerous things. At the same time, we did not forget the military-industrial complex, and we took care of our own. But we weren’t told about this from televisors. Around only about red revenge and red-brown. Then Chechnya. What BZHRK ????

It’s already said that it’s done, it’s done ... It’s a pity that the old ones were cut, but it’s good that the idea is alive and the work is on! God forbid, soon the new compositions will roll around the country! Good luck with this project!

The proposal is not bad, but not suitable for "strategists". But as an alternative or addition to "Iskander" - just right.

The generation "under 35" has such a negative attitude towards Lenin, because they saw only one side of the medal with the "image" of Lenin - something that "shows" the current regime of power. I am not a "fan" of Lenin; but I have always tried to diversify the sources of information. Lenin was not such a remarkable and genius as he is "portrayed" in Soviet times and, now, by the Communist Party; but he was not a fiend of hell, as modern opportunists "describe". He was a man of his (that) time.

Since 1991, restrictions were imposed on the patrol routes of the BZHRK, they were on combat duty at a permanent deployment point, without going to the country's railway network. According to the START-2 agreement (1993), Russia was to remove all RT-23UTTX missiles from service before 2003 year. At the time of decommissioning, Russia had 3 divisions (Kostroma, Perm, and Krasnoyarsk), a total of 12 trains with 36 launchers. For the disposal of "rocket trains" at the Bryansk repair plant of the Strategic Missile Forces, a special "cutting" line was mounted. Despite Russia's withdrawal from the START-2 treaty in 2002, during 2003-2007 all trains and launchers, except for two demilitarized ones, were disposed of.
START II, the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty was signed by George W. Bush and Boris Yeltsin in January 1993.

          Yeah. For comparison:

The American company Orbital Sciences will buy from NPO Energomash 60 rocket engines for $ 1 billion

Engines will be used in the first stage of the Antares rocket starting in 2015.
          izvestia.ru/news/580912
The engine from the Angara RD-191 was taken as the basis.
As a result of discussions, only a ban on the use of RD-180 in military programs was supported.
Antares rockets, which are mainly used to deliver cargo to the ISS, were initially equipped with engines AJ-26, which are slightly reworked NK-33 engines. However, the engines were altered very unsuccessfully, as evidenced by the rocket accident in October 2014. This year, it was decided to transfer missiles to the RD-181.

There is also a "Kultuk" - a low windrunner, sharp and cold, it lives for a couple of hours. tedious, not strong. It blows mainly in the fall. How to keep the complex on the database without ICBMs?
The ICBMs for the BZHRK came out with a warranty period of 2001. It was impossible to extend it - ICBMs were made in Ukraine and the part of the chain fell apart. In particular, the solid fuel plant died.
And the warranty period for solid fuel ICBMs is determined precisely by fuel.

BZHRK Molodets went on special routes, with a special prepared canvas and bridges for their weight. With the development of the project, more than ten thousand kilometers were strengthened. Railway tracks and several hundred bridges that covered a good half of the USSR. A prerequisite was the presence of tunnels, forks and dead ends on which there was the possibility of deploying the complex. In order to increase the maneuverability of the new complex, as well as the unification of existing ballistic missiles, it was apparently decided to modernize Yars and not Stiletto (well done). Thereby keeping silent a more maneuverable complex, which will allow for inter-theater regrouping of forces and means.

The information is correct, but it's not just Putin or Yeltsin ... Since the onset of combat duty in 1985, BZHRKs have left their bases only 18 times. We walked only 400 thousand kilometers. They were mainly stationed at the Vasilek railway station near Kostroma and in Perm. The railroad tracks did not support wagons with the inscription “For the carriage of light cargo”. Then there were problems with topographic location at that time, the problem of launching missiles from any point of combat patrol was not solved. There were special points along the route from which it was possible to bind and launch. For BZHRK these are special "sedimentation tanks". Where in the hour "X" the train arrived. Tied to a point and could fire a salvo of missiles. The first Topol 15P158.1, also called "Topol with a dot", had the same problems. Then this problem was solved at PGRK Topol 15P158. But by that time, the BZHRK had already made the final decision to reduce it.
In addition, by the time of signing START-2, the USSR had ceased to exist. The Yuzhnoye design bureau, where rockets were created, turned out to be in Ukraine, as did the Pavlograd plant, where they made rental cars. The extension of the resource and technical support were in doubt. This is not a mine PU PC_20. But the main thing at that time was the unresolved deployment problem, the possibility of patrolling along all roads and not specially reinforced with the possibility of firing missiles from anywhere on the route, which in total made the BZHRK not as invulnerable as it would have been. And that means not so effective weapon. Moreover, in Russia at that time much more modern rocket systems of the Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering RT-2PM2 "Topol-M" and then Yars went into a series. They bet on them. Now, with the advent of a light rocket and the solution of the problem of topographic and geodetic support, these above-mentioned disadvantages will be eliminated.
Now, thanks to the new missile’s MHC, it’s possible to create a train (up to 10 missiles with a homing missile) comparable to a strategic nuclear submarine. But, most importantly, this missile system will be fully autonomous.. Why? Comment below.

As for the calculation, there is such information. In the days of EBN, the Americans were given the opportunity to install equipment along the BZHRK route. And they made records of the speed of movement, vibrations from the passage of trains and now they can determine the location from the satellite and distinguish them from ordinary refrigerators. Something like this, unfortunately.

The Barguzin missile system should include several locomotives,

One locomotive with YaSU (nuclear power plant). the power plant there will be made in the form of a module, which by the standards of modern railways does not require maintenance at all. Such a module is removed every few years and sent to the plant for repair and reloading of the reactor core, and a new one is put in its place. And externally, such a locomotive will not differ in any way from a locomotive, and the power will be an order of magnitude higher, which will solve the problem of unmasking the train plus unlimited autonomy. In 2011 A message flashed about the contract between Rosatom and Russian Railways.
In February 2011, it was announced that Rosatom Corporation and Russian Railways OJSC were planning to hold a presentation of a scientific and exhibition complex of 2011 wagons with a locomotive using a nuclear power plant at the end of July 11.
“This is a composition that includes a fast neutron reactor, which can be implemented as a transport element - a power plant,” explained Valentin Gapanovich, Vice President of Russian Railways

"Russian Railways will ride on fast neutrons" - 18.02.2011/XNUMX/XNUMX
After that, all information on the development of this project was classified.
It is worth noting that during the development of the BZHRK in the USSR, an autonomous locomotive with a nuclear power plant was designed. . By 1985, a constructive version of the BOR 60 fast-neutron reactor was developed (thermal power 60 MW, electric power 10 MW), Lokomotiv included three sections. The middle one - with four-axle bogies carrying a nuclear reactor, while the extreme ones were the modernized crew parts of the 2TE116 diesel locomotive, which housed auxiliary diesel engines and turbo-generators. The mass of the biological-protected reactor was 140 tons. For the middle section, TEM7 diesel locomotive carts could be used; in this case, the axle load would be 225 kN. The body frame consists of 2 longitudinal box-section beams connected by pivot beams and interframe mounts. however, not a single active atomic ship was built. development ceased in 1985. The argument against this was the consideration of the high environmental hazard of a nuclear power vehicle and possible serious consequences in the event of a crash or other accident.

There were rumors that the Americans themselves were responsible for the creation of the "fellow" complex. The CIA once threw us a misconception that allegedly a network of underground communications is being built in America to move platforms with ICBMs along them, and they will stretch for a fucking length. Well, like a sesesere this Batwa will eat and start building something like that. And this is a very expensive pleasure, as you know, to dig tunnels and even build starting exits. Here, they say, the Russians are destroying their economy, and the dough will go down the drain. But at that time in the KGB they were not doing something with a finger, they received information and gave the clever ones to count. That is where they brought all the pros and cons, that it would be cheaper to make a rolling ground stock than underground platforms. In short, they fooled amerisos once again and got a cool combat complex. something like this.

The idea of GOOD, unlike soil complexes, is MUCH BETTER and cheaper to operate ... However, due to poor security, all these complexes (soil and railway) must be very well classified ... That's the matter of secrecy in today's Russia VERY AND VERY WEAK ... But the equipment does not stand still ... Now it’s enough to stick a tiny box in a secluded place of these complexes and ... its location is KNOWN ... and there even if you miss it for ten kilometers, then destruction is guaranteed anyway. .. It would be much more promising to HAVE VERY PROTECTED MINING COMPLEXES IN A LARGE QUANTITY (exceeding the number of allowed missiles) and let the adversary think where the empty missile is and where it’s really combat ... And modern mine complexes can withstand direct (!) Nuclear munitions with a power of the order of 100-150 kilotons ... (That's why the USA started (!) Upgrading its nuclear weapons to INCREASE the power of the delivered ammunition.)

It is elementary to calculate such "gifts" by civilian security systems, and on BZHRK they will certainly be much cooler.

Clarification required. The rocket was ready for LCI. Quite a decent rocket for an intercontinental given. By this time, fairly light BBs had been created (according to the MGH, it was approximately the same as one block from the Pioneer). And a rocket of 18 tons could well carry such a block.
In 1987, I leafed through the technical documentation in Plyasetsk. They were already preparing for the LCI. But a conceptual decision was made to abandon the Courier. I don’t know why. IMHO - erroneous. Because only such a rocket could be truly mobile, capable of moving without restrictions on almost all roads. But it didn't work out. It's a pity.

I do not understand why this new BZHDK is needed. Its maintenance requires an appropriate infrastructure, which is no longer available. Today it will cost as much as the complex itself. The train is designed for 1, maximum 3 missiles. How many trains will there be? For example, 5. This is a maximum of 15 missiles. Such trains are difficult to distinguish visually from freight or passenger, but they cannot be completely invisible to special means of a potential enemy. Is it worth the fence? It is better to build one SSBN with 16 ICBMs equipped with an RFM. There is design and manufacturing experience, there should be fewer problems. This weapon has sufficient effectiveness and stealth.

By the way, in fact, MIT has implemented an "enlarged rail Courier". Finally, we managed to fit the mass-dimensional characteristics of the complex into a standard car with 4 wheelsets, and not into an 8-pair, elongated one.
This means that it will be possible to "ride around the country" all over the railway. networks.
