The fifth frigate class FREMM for the Italian Navy launched

8
The 13 of December at the shipyard of the Italian company Fincantieri, located in Riva Trigoso, held the launching ceremony for the fifth of ten FREMM frigates (Fregates Europeennes Multi-Missions) ordered for the Italian Navy, said "Military Parity" with reference to Navy Recognition.

The fifth frigate class FREMM for the Italian Navy launched

The event was attended by Senator Nicola Latorre, Ligurian Governor Claudio Burlando, as well as other senior representatives fleet, armies, and Fincantieri executives.

The Italian Navy should receive this frigate at the start of the 2016 of the year. The ships of the FREMM program serve as a demonstration of the current state of the European and Italian defense in the Mediterranean. They will replace the Maestrale and Lupo class frigates built by Fincantieri in the 70s of the last century.

In addition, it became known that the American company GE Marine has signed a contract providing for the supply of the LM2500 + G4 gas turbine unit to the Turin company Avio Aero, which will be equipped with the eighth Italian FREMM frigate.

According to Giulio Ranzo, Head of Strategic Marketing & Product Leadership at Avio Aero, “the company is proud of its partnership with the Italian fleet and the installation and maintenance of the GE LM2500 and LM2500 + G4 gas turbines on the aircraft carrier Cavour and Italian-French-Moroccan FREMM class frigates.”

A beautiful and functional frigate ... But our frigates of the 22350 project will be better :) Especially in terms of weapons ...
16 supersonic caliber or onyx missiles with a range of up to 500 km, versus 16 subsonic Teseo Mk2 Block IV with a range of 150 km.
and our displacement is almost one and a half thousand less.

You have in the picture just the French version and not the Italian one. The Frenchman has 16 Scalp Naval missiles. One of the runway strips behind the bow tower is just them. And the radar on the superstructure is pyramidal and not spherical.

Less displacement is a minus and not a plus. Less autonomy, less groundwork for modernization, etc. And for the price the difference is minimal.

The British said "if you put 8 guns on the ship instead of 10, then only 6 will shoot."
I think it is no longer necessary to comment.

A good device, a worthy opponent. It will be necessary to take into account the introduction of each such system. I’m a man of deep land, seaman, tell me your weighty word on this issue: weaknesses / strengths, the possibility of using against Russia and how to drown this adversary on occasion (we exclude nuclear weapons by default).

Complete nonsense that this ship is against Russia (if someone is trying to assert it). The clean ship against Russia is the Ohio SSBN with 24 ballistic missiles (up to 336 warheads) on board.
And this is an ordinary frigate which replaces corrupted frigates.
Here, only 8 anti-ship missiles are perfectly visible in the center of the hull (they are not in the photo, only the mounts are visible). And only 16 cells for Aster anti-aircraft missiles near the nose gun. So with such ships "on Rossi wink do not go. "

Here is his French version more toothy. There, in addition to such weapons, there are 16 more Scalp Naval cruise missiles. There are already visible 2 rows of VPU behind the nasal cannon.

Moreover, this frigate of the same project is called "Mohammed VI D-701" and serves in MOROCCAN the navy. I think there is no need to explain that the Moroccan frigate is NOT sharpened for war with Russia))).

Well, plus the Egyptians want to buy at least one such and the Greeks really wanted 6 pieces.

In general, when I look at them, it seems that they were designed by designers Enzio Ferrari smile

So if you hear that 10-15 years ago they began to design them specifically for the war with Russia, decide for yourself where to send the nonsense.

Well, Ohio in the SSBN version from another opera, here in the KR version ...

This is a common frigate of the Euro-Naval Forces, with the main tasks of anti-piracy, anti-terrorist operations, flag demonstration, humanitarian operations, suppression of the next Tyrant with 70 technologies to which the Master will show.

A ship against the Russian Navy such as Burke, whom 12 2 pieces are being purchased new and the first Troika has been ordered.

Well, I'm sorry, I just indicated the most suitable ships for this definition. To at least remove the web from the brains of commentators.
There is no talk about in-depth analysis yet wink

Any weapon that is in service with NATO can potentially be turned against Russia, who argue the opposite - that provocateur.

Any weapon can be turned against anyone. Whoever denies this is the "lowly educated person" (regardless of gender).

When you write comments, try to fill them with at least a touch of thought. If you DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING about the project or its place in the Italian Armed Forces or the cancellation of Italian ships, then better keep silent, do not disgrace.

Here is a frigate like Maestrale. Recently, one of them was decommissioned (there were 8 in total).

Here's a frigate like Lupo. Recently, 6 out of 8 frigates have been decommissioned.

Total was 16, written off already 7. At the same time only 8 of which 3 are planned are planned.
Here is the question - "Against whom (or for whom) the Italians write off their frigates ??? ".

You are more than sure that you have never heard of these ships. So if you just keep silent modestly, I’ll understand everything wink

It looks like frigates have now become the basis of the Navy of most countries of the world. They are regularly informed about their page or bookmark, and we have most of them being built. But at least about the same destroyers or cruisers have not been reported for a long time.

    Well, not quite like that.
First, the classification is rather conditional, and in one fleet the ship will be called a frigate, and in the other a destroyer.
Look, the very same Iranians call their suborders in the 1000-1400t destroyers. But it’s not even frigates !!!

Even the Japanese call their ships in 4000t destroyers. The Japanese generally fleet officially consists of destroyers mainly and not frigates.

The Americans have already built 62 destroyers A. Björk and from 2016 they will again begin to put into operation.
Several years ago, Italy and France built 2 Gorizont destroyers each.
    https://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/5307/31457928.8/0_59811_7075ce5_L.jpg

A couple of years ago, England completed a series of Daring-type destroyers.

South Korea finished a series of three destroyer series for its fleet
3 to 4000t (well, these are pure frigates)
    6 to 5600t (semi-destroyers semi-destroyers)
and 3 full-fledged 10400t destroyers of Sejong Daewang

I will not say anything about China, which from 1999 to 2007 built 11 destroyers (4 bought from us) and since 2013 has already put into operation 4 of its latest destroyers and is building them now with a dozen.

So the destroyers are being built and very active. Although the frigates are more active.
Some people also call our frigates "Admiral Gorshkov" destroyers.

Well, what can I say? Easter Island will soon have more frigates than Russia in four fleets and one flotilla. Very, very sad ....

Our situation with frigates is also not bad. There is only one important problem - this is the lack of its own domestic gas turbine for frigates under construction. There is a problem - there is a solution to it. I think in 2-3 years we will see our gas turbine on our ships. hi
And the buildings are in such a state that .. lol

    PROJECT 22350
    "Admiral Gorshkov" on sea trials.

"Admiral Kasatonov" was launched in a high degree of readiness. GTU is available.

"Admiral Golovko" rolled out of the covered boathouse. There is no GTU.

The first 2 ships should be part of the Northern Fleet by the end of 2015. drinks
