On Saturday, activists of the initiative group of Moscow students (IGMS) drove a garbage container to the building of the Sakharov Center in the capital. Thus, the students decided to congratulate Andrei Makarevich, who was to speak at the center at a charity event, with his last birthday. Reports about it Ридус.
The “benefactors” who came to the evening made such a gift angry, and a scuffle ensued between them and the student activists.
Kuzma Stanislavov, one of the participants of the action, commented on the IGMS actions:
“We decided to congratulate Andrei Makarevich on his last birthday, December 11. Recently, his creative and public activities have acquired a dubious philosophy. Therefore, as a gift, IGMS decided to present Makarevich with a similarity of the attribute of the ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes. There was no suitable clay pithos, in other words, barrels - we didn’t understand our symbolism in the museums of antiquity, so we donated a garbage container to Andrei Vadimovich. In our opinion, this accessory, if I may say so, symbolizes the obvious analogies of Makarevich's activities with the outrageous behavior of the ancient Greek cosmopolitan. However, in the light of the well-known events taking place in Ukraine, other analogies are also seen. ”
