In the period up to 2015, Russia will receive a modern launch vehicle

According to Vladimir Nesterov, Director General of the State Space Scientific and Technical Center na im. Khrunichev, in 2015, the first flight tests of the newest upper stage installed on the Angara carrier rocket will begin. “The design has been completed on the hydrogen-oxygen overclocking unit for the Angara launch vehicle,” he said. - Now we are preparing design documentation. The first launches of the launch vehicle in the so-called light and heavy versions will take place from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, previously in 2013. Hydrogen-oxygen booster unit KVTK will provide an opportunity to significantly increase the energy characteristics of carriers in the heavy class Angara-A5 and significantly expand their capabilities to launch space objects into special high-energy orbits and trajectories.

Flight tests of a promising Angara carrier rocket from the Russian Plesetsk cosmodrome will begin presumably in 2013, said V. Nesterov, but acknowledged that there are a lot of difficulties. “At the moment we are on time. Flight tests are supposed to begin in the summer of 2013, and I don’t see any reasons that would prevent this, ”said V.Nesterov. Answering the question posed whether the payload was already formed for the initial launches scheduled for 2013 year, both light and heavy versions of the Angar launch vehicle, he answered: “At the current time, there is no payload yet, because we have. Speaking about the possible prospects of launching Angara from the Baikonur cosmodrome as part of the Baiterek Russian-Kazakhstan program, the general director noted that this program is waiting for funds, after which the formation of the launch complex at the Baikonur cosmodrome will begin.

Touching upon the advantages of the “Angara” in comparison with other carriers, the head of the GKNPT stressed that these missiles of the light, medium and most important heavy classes will be formed from universal missile system modules URM-1 and URM-2. Their launches are carried out with the use of one universal starting complex, which will solve the diverse tasks of the whole cosmodrome.

When answering the question about the progress of work on the Proton launch vehicle, Vladimir Nesterov recalled that three stages of upgrades of carriers of this type were carried out: “This allowed us to increase the mass from 4,9 to 6,3 tons to the geo-transfer orbit of the Earth. We spent over a billion rubles on this own money, and received at least a billion dollars in pre-orders. Pretty good business. ” Currently, work is underway on the last, fourth stage of modernization. “First of all, it is associated with some relief to the design of the launch vehicle. We will make the outdated "Proton" half metal, half composite, - said the general director. - In total, more than 70 new technologies are implemented in this work. I will note right away that the fourth stage will end with the launch of the rocket at the beginning of 2013 of the year, or with a positive situation at the end of 2012 of the year. ”

The volume of sales of own products GKNPTs them. Khrunichev for five years has grown almost four times. And this is without taking into account the latest signed contracts on the basis of the positive result associated with the modernization of the Proton. In 2010, the volume of delivered products amounted to 1,2 billion dollars, in 2005, this figure was about 300 million. In the 2010, the missiles launched by the center launched 15 times, including Proton-M - 12, Rokot - 2, and Cosmos-3М - 1.

In GKNPTs them. Khrunichev hopes that launches of the Rokot launch vehicle will be resumed by the end of this year. The operation of missiles of this type was suspended due to the unsuccessful launch of the military geological satellite Geo-IK-1 by February 2, which, due to the abnormal operation of the involved booster rocket, was put into an erroneous, orbit, orbit. “It is extremely difficult to work on the elimination of identified faults,” admitted Vladimir Nesterov. - We of course dealt with them. I hope very much that at the end of this year we will launch “Rokot” into operation ”.

The three-stage Rokot carrier rocket with the upper stage of the Briz-KM system was designed at the Space Research and Production Space Center on the basis of a Soviet-made intercontinental ballistic missile, PC-18. The launch mass of this carrier is 107 t, length - 28 m, diameter - 2,5 m. Engines of all stages of the launch vehicle use highly toxic components of jet fuel. The first launch into the Rokot orbit took place in November 1990 of the year from the Kazakhstan cosmodrome Baikonur. The launch of 1 in February of the current year in the interests of the Russian Space Forces was the first. Taking into account this launch, just from the Baikonur launch site, the Rokot launch vehicle started 16 times, of which 14 launches were recognized as completely successful in all respects.

      God forbid!

If only they would not complicate unnecessarily, for what is reliable is that which is simple.

So all the same, we do not stand still. And the idea of universal blocks is very elegant and damn pragmatic. Well done workaholic space front. Now the main thing is the implementation and high quality of the technological assembly.
