Yoshkar-Ola compound of the Strategic Missile Forces will be re-equipped with new missile systems
47
In the near future, the Yoshkar-Ola missile compound will be reequipped - the Ministry of Defense will supply new missile systems in exchange for Topolov’s own resources. The commander of the formation, Major General Andrei Burbin, spoke about the impending rearmament of the radio station Echo of Moscow.
At the same time, Andrei Burbin didn’t tell about which rocket complexes the compound of the Strategic Missile Forces would be transferred to. It is possible that such complexes may be “Yarsy”.
In 1985, the missile division began to receive Topol complexes. It was here that the regiment, fully staffed by the Poplars, appeared first in the Strategic Missile Forces. The Yoshkar-Ola unit of the Strategic Missile Forces has been declared the best compound using self-propelled launchers in Russia four times.
