Two complexes of EW "Krasukha-2" will go to the troops in 2015
Two mobile complex EW "Krasukha-2" will be delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry next year, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to a source in the defense industry.
The complex "Krasukha" was developed at the Scientific Research Institute "Gradient", mass-produced by NPO Kvant. The system effectively covers command posts, military units, air defense systems, and other important objects.
According to the source, “Krasuha-2” “analyzes the type of signal and provides the impact on the enemy’s radar with powerful intelligent interfering radiation. As a result, airplanes lose the ability to detect targets and direct high-precision weapons at them. ”
“The key words here are intellectual hindrance. “Krasuha-2” does not jam the alien signal with powerful radiation, although it can do it elementary. Moreover, the beam directed by its radar can simply burn out all the electronics of an enemy plane and even a satellite — it hits hundreds of kilometers. But it is too easy, ”the newspaper writes.
According to “RG”, the EW station first gently scans the object of impact, “determines its radio frequency bands, and then also softly and imperceptibly integrates into the system, for example, AWACS-type long-range radar detection or a military telecommunications satellite.” As a result, the enemy’s command posts and satellites receive distorted targets, which may be their own military installations.
The basis of the EW system was laid back in the Soviet Union, and it was implemented with great difficulties already in Russia. Many high ranks claimed that, due to financial difficulties, the state would never allocate funds for the production of the station - it is certainly wonderful, but too expensive. Nevertheless, Alexander Krasovsky, head of the radio-electronic warfare department of the General Staff, managed to push the station into the armament program.
Assessing the courageous deed of the officer (at that time it was a feat), the developers, industrialists and military unanimously decided to call the EW station of the new generation "The Shade". The name was chosen as a reminder of the fact without whom this station would hardly have happened - about the captain of the 1 rank Krasovsky.
