The “color revolutions” equally threaten both Russia and China, so they need to be tackled jointly, Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said to the press yesterday. Reports about it RIA News.
In September, mass unrest broke out in one of the main financial centers in Asia, Hong Kong, during which activists of the Occupy Central movement blocked the business center and attempted to break into the government complex. The main demand of the protesters is to hold direct elections for the head of the seven millionth metropolis instead of the current two-step one. The United States denies any involvement in the shares.
“We drew attention to the events that recently occurred in Hong Kong, and two ministers admitted that not a single country is immune from the“ color revolutions ”- said Antonov after the negotiations of Sergey Shoigu with the head of the Ministry of Defense of China Chang Wanquan.
“It only seems that these“ color revolutions ”, these experiments of Western political technologists, including American ones, are taking place, are being realized somewhere far from China or the Russian Federation. All this is actually close to us, and we believe that Russia and China should work together to counter this new challenge to the security of our states. ”- said the deputy minister.
He noted that the latest example of "color coup" is the change of power in Ukraine. "There was a coup d'état, and we see how this fraternal country is experiencing difficulties, trials"- said Antonov.
