A Vietnamese farmer built an armored personnel carrier for the Cambodian army

Chan Quoc Hai supplied food to the 70 Brigade of the Armed Forces of Cambodia. During his trips, he drew attention to the poor state of the fleet of armored vehicles and offered the command to repair one of the BRDM-2. Having spent about 25 thousands of dollars, the farmer, his son and a group of technical specialists of the brigade not only repaired, but also modernized the combat vehicle. In particular, they replaced the diesel engine with a diesel engine and mounted a recoilless gun on the turret. After that, the brigade command signed a contract with the farmer for the repair and upgrading of another 10 BRDM-2 and BTR-60PB, which he also successfully completed.

But this was not enough for him. Together with the engineers of the brigade, he began to build a wheeled armored personnel carrier of the original design. The development of the project took three months, and the car itself was built on the technical basis of the brigade in just one month. The material does not contain information about the technical characteristics of the combat vehicle, it is noted only that it can withstand hits from small arms weapons from a distance of about 7 meters. For the creation of this armored vehicle, Tran Quoc Hai and his son were awarded medals of Cambodia.

However, everything is better than the ukropovskiy self-made gunned up armored car for supposedly their paratroopers (the language does not turn to call Natsik paratroopers)

      Morning is a joy!
It was recalled, like here a few months ago there was a note about a submarine built by a private person in Vietnam.
The same farmer in any way?

In Russia, there are also such craftsmen. For example, Vyacheslav Verevochkin from the Novosibirsk region. He reunites the technique of the WWII era, which can be used in historical reconstructions, parades and on the set of films. IMHO, if he had the task to create a combat model, he would have done it.

I still found the video. It’s a pity only, Verevochkin has already died. 55 years old, heart.

    Vietnamese KULIBIN .....

In the war with the United States, such KULIBINS made deadly traps against the US Army foot soldiers.

VERY EFFECTIVE .... when a pin greased with dung sticks into a leg, there are very few chances to survive.

Well done man, nothing to say!
According to the video - at the top of the recoilless armored personnel carriers? Why so high above the tower? And how to aim, reload and shoot under dense enemy fire like? Isn't it better then in the stern, under at least some cover of the tower? It’s better for the mechanic to tighten the car for the firing sector than to risk a l / s that will collect all the fragments at this height in full height.

Not surprising, given the fact that most Cambodian armored vehicles are now in this condition.

Likely armored limousines from the president’s motorcade can also be adapted for military operations. Cut out loopholes and make a tower.
