A large diesel-electric submarine B-237 "Rostov-on-Don" (serial number 01671, project 06363), built by the company "Admiralty Shipyards", went on factory tests on Tuesday. This is reported by the blog. bmpd.
The boat was laid in November 2011, launched in June 2014, and should be handed over to the Russian Navy before the end of 2014.
Rostov-on-Don is the second submarine (the first is Novorossiysk) of the six planned for the Black Sea Fleet project 06363. The contract for the head boat was signed in August 2010, for the other five - in September 2011. The third submarine B-262 "Stary Oskol" was laid in August 2012, and launched in late August of this year. Now the construction of the fourth submarine B-265 "Krasnodar".
“The fifth and sixth ordered boats of this type (B-268“ Veliky Novgorod ”and“ Kolpino ”) will be laid at the Admiralty Shipyards on the same day on October 28 on the 2014 of the year,” the website notes.
