Igor Druz: “An Orthodox person will never fight against Novorossia”
Igor Druz almost from the very beginning joined the ranks of the militia and was appointed adviser to the Minister of Defense of the DPR on issues of information and politics. After the forced departure of the militia from Slavyansk, Igor Druzh wrote a well-known article called “We left Slavyansk to return to Kiev,” in which he explained the reasons for this act. Now Igor Druz as an assistant to Igor Strelkov is on vacation, but he hopes that soon the whole team will return to Novorossia again.
- Igor Mikhailovich, now in the Donbass there is a massive exchange of prisoners of war. Did you attend this process? Did you communicate with Ukrainian prisoners of war? Why and what are they fighting for?
- It so happened that I was not present when the Ukrainian military surrendered in captivity, but I had to communicate with the prisoners. For example, prisoners from punitive battalions are really hired fanatics who hate Russia and believe that Russia has invaded Ukraine. But among the prisoners of war there are also ordinary soldiers who are ready to serve any regime for a salary.
- Some say that there are Orthodox people from both sides and, they say, those who are fighting against Novorossia are guided by Orthodox principles? Is it so?
- On the Ukrainian side, there are no Orthodox at all, because not a single Orthodox church man will go to war against Novorossia, because he knows that the unity of Holy Russia is pleasing to God. All the saints who spoke on this topic are unanimous that Holy Russia should be one. But the fascist're coming out are just separatists and they want to break away New Russia from Holy Russia and attach it to the decaying militant West. Therefore, there are no church people from the Ukrainian side at all. The punitive battalions are mainly Uniates, dissenters, neopagans and sectarians. Among the army soldiers there are many people who are formally baptized in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, but do not even know the basics of Orthodox dogma, the Symbol of Faith.
- What do you think, why did Orthodox people with disbelief react to Euromaidan, and schismatics and uniates bless this Maidan?
- The correctness of the Orthodox faith is confirmed by the fact that Orthodox people and in political affairs always know where the truth is. Orthodox people did not support either the first Maidan or the second Euromaidan. We have always laughed at the bird-pig epidemics, considering it a scam of pharmacological companies. This suggests that the spiritual foundation on which we rely is correct, and heretics and atheists always err in their predictions. Many of them sincerely believed that after Maidan, Ukraine would join the EU and the earthly paradise would come, and Orthodox people warned that there would be war. We were right, not because we are so terribly intelligent, but because God gave us the opportunity to remain in the Church and use its principles and its wisdom.
“Who are the priests who feed the militia?”
- Most Orthodox priests throughout Ukraine are for us. Another thing is the episcopacy. Unfortunately, there were many traitors among the Ukrainian hierarchs, among them Metropolitan Belotserkovsky and Boguslavsky Avgustin (Markevich) (Metropolitan Avgustin was the chairman of the UOC department for cooperation with the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine - Ed.).
- Unfortunately, among the Russians there are those who accuse the militia of the bloody events in Novorossia, that this militia allegedly started a war, hiding behind civilians and provoking the Ukrainian side to military actions ...
- We have never been hiding behind the civilian population, this is yet another lie of fascist propaganda. Another thing is that we sometimes had to install military equipment in urban areas, but this is the inevitability of any war. Protecting our cities, we were sometimes forced to shoot from the city limits, but we did not do this in order to provoke a return fire. Those who came with weapons on our land, began to destroy cities, striking peaceful neighborhoods, destroying people, are war criminals. By the way, they are hitting not so much military facilities as residential buildings. I myself watched it in Slavyansk and Donetsk. At first glance, their blows are insane, but they have their own logic. With the help of refugees, they want to destabilize the situation and stage a color revolution in Russia under the slogan of discontent of Russians with millions of refugees, because of which the Russian population was allegedly impoverished. In addition, under the guise of refugees, Ukrainian agents are being sent to Russia.
- Igor Mikhailovich, tell us about your first impressions upon your arrival in Slavyansk.
- As soon as I arrived in Slavyansk, I had to participate in some hostilities, and I was struck by the heroism among the militias. I have never seen such mass heroism anywhere and did not think that in our decadent time there are so many heroes. I talked to many of them and found out that they are not even paid salaries, at best, they receive small compensations. I talked to the man who shot down the fascist flying 4 aircraft, and he was given the 1000 hryvnia award for it, but he was not offended and said that he was fighting not for money, but for the Fatherland. And there are a lot of such people there.
- Who did hit this ill-fated Boeing?
- Boeing is a provocation. We did not shoot him down! Firstly, we never shoot at peaceful objects, and secondly, even if we wanted to do this, we could not for technical reasons. We have a portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS), but they can knock down the object only at a height of four kilometers, because the main bombardment or missile strikes were made from a small height. Now the fascist pilots are frightened up by fear of bombing us, because we have already shot down most of the aircraft of this pitiful army with these weapons. But we could not bring down the Boeing at the height of eleven kilometers. In addition, from the very beginning it was clear that this was a provocation, because the dispatchers from Dnepropetrovsk, the estate of Kolomoisky, took the plane not by an ordinary route, but through the territories that the militia controls. The most likely version is that the Boeing was shot down by a nazi fascist from a SU aircraft.
- If Novorossia will be able to defend, will the principles laid down in the Constitution of the DPR be implemented? Do you intend to ban abortions and make Orthodoxy a “preeminent and dominant” religion?
- I am convinced that the principles enshrined in the Constitution will be implemented. Most of the militias are Orthodox and church people who regularly confess and take communion. For the first time in 100 years, an Orthodox army of Russian people emerged.
- What do you think, will the present “Minsk” truce last for a long time?
“The truce has already been broken, so no attempt to reach an agreement with the junta will bring results.” We should expect a war, since no long-term peace is now possible. Even if Poroshenko wants peace, he will not be allowed to do so by his foreign curators and numerous soldiers from the militias who do not obey Poroshenko and are extremely radical in their mood.
- What will happen next?
- I am convinced that in the end we will be able to liberate other regions of Ukraine, first of all Kiev. Now it seems difficult, but I am convinced that we will enter Kiev, because without this it is impossible to solve the problem of this war. We are for peace, but the model 1945 of the year, which establishes a reliable, peaceful order for many years to come. If to freeze this conflict and to leave the Kiev terrorists in power, they will try to arrange a distemper in Russia. Therefore, unrest in Russia is becoming more and more unavoidable due to the unresolved nature of this conflict.
- What should the Russian authorities do to prevent this unrest?
“There are many towers in the Kremlin, and I really hope that in the end Putin will make the right decision.” If, nevertheless, a correct decision is not taken, then serious upheavals in Russia itself are inevitable. I and many other militiamen will oppose with all possible force any attempt at color upheaval. For me, this is a matter of principle, a question of my faith, which concerns me personally. After all, I almost died from two Maidan, so even the word “Maidan” makes me very angry.
- The other day you met with Igor Ivanovich Strelkov, how does he feel and what is he doing now?
- Thank God, Strelkov is healthy, vigorous and full of strength. He works a lot, and his job is to help the New Russia. I think in his time he will tell everything. The shooters will not abandon Novorossia and will fully protect its population. Igor Strelkov is a very honest and absolutely incorruptible person who does not trade in either his homeland, or his name or honor. The gunners do not fit into any dirty schemes and retain the honor of the old Russian imperial army. This is what caused the anger of a number of politicians from various neighboring capitals.
- When will Igor Strelkov return to Donetsk again?
- The return of Strelkov to Donetsk would have a great positive effect, but only he must be returned to a post worthy of his scale. I think that this is possible, and I hope that this will happen. Igor Strelkov will not abandon Novorossia and in one form or another he will fight against fascism and help the people of this long-suffering land, which he did in the Crimea, defending peace and law and order there. Unfortunately, in Novorossia it was not possible to do this by peaceful means due to the fault of Kiev terrorists, who did not accept the choice of the people in a referendum and "unleashed" the war. The militia did not start the war, but rather tried to prevent it. For years I walked around the high Kiev and Moscow cabinets and warned that the support of the West and the Bandera underground would inevitably lead to a civil war. I predicted this war, but I was mistaken in the date, because Yanukovych did not sign the association with the EU and thus pulled the trigger a little earlier than was intended. Therefore, now Russia needs to intervene more actively and not try to reach an agreement with the Kiev fascists.
- Your assistant went to the war with you - Orthodox German Margarita Seidler, who became one of the symbols of the militia. How did Margarita take this war?
- Margarita Zaydler kept very worthy. She was ready to die. She did not try to leave, although she had a great opportunity to do it. She arrived in Moscow only on the orders of Strelkov, like me. I came for talks, and she came to speak in the media.
- Do memories of war torment you?
- I do not have any post-war syndrome, because, thank God, I am an Orthodox person and I think about eternity, therefore I’m not going to go to hard drinking because I participated in hostilities, and my family supports me and actions. Church helps in the war. We want to go back there, and I hope that we will do it as a team. While we are on vacation.
