Flame-throwing subunits of the Southern Military District conducted live firing from the modern TOC-1A "Solntsepek" system and a modernized high-range rocket infantry flamethrower RPO PDM-A "Shmel-M", reports Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
During maneuvers at the Prudboy site in the Volgograd region, extended-range thermobaric shells were used. In total, more than 70 launches were made, during which 220-mm unguided rockets hit 30 ground targets at distances from 3 to 6 kilometers. Also more 200 shots were fired from RPO PDM-A "Shmel-M".
"The servicemen in the crews and combat crews worked out actions on the march, standards for deploying and occupying firing positions, their engineering equipment and disguise, preparing for opening fire, reconnaissance of targets and solving fire control tasks," the press service notes.
The use of this projectile allows you to increase the firing range of the "Sunpinek" to 6 kilometers. In addition, the increased mass of its warhead increases the effectiveness of fire damage by 15-20%.
The upgraded flamethrower "Bumblebee-M" is the next generation of high-precision mobile assault weapons, allowing to hit targets in shelters and lightly armored equipment at a distance of 1.7 km. Its sighting range is 800 meters.
