The official representative of the US Foreign Ministry, Jen Psaki said that the US State Department does not have independent evidence that Russian troops invaded the territory of Ukraine.
Journalists asked her if the United States has any reason to "doubt the correctness of the authorities' claims in Kiev about the Russian invasion."
“I have nothing new to independently confirm on behalf of the United States,” psaki responds ITAR-TASS.
Earlier, the Kremlin has once again denied reports of the entry of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine.
“Appropriate explanations have already been given on this issue,” said Vladimir Putin’s assistant Yury Ushakov, recalling that they had already submitted “numerous refutations.”
The fact that on the Russian-Ukrainian border are concentrated about 10 thousands of Russian military had previously said the spokesman for the US Department of Defense, Rear Admiral John Kirby.
“The US continues to mark a significant number of Russian military in the northern part of the border with Ukraine,” he said. “I cannot give the exact number, but we are talking about about ten thousand people.”
In addition, he again accused Russia of “actions aimed at exacerbating tensions within Ukraine,” calling for the withdrawal of “Russian soldiers from the border and the cessation of support for Russia” by the militias.
