Crimean prosecutor intends to defend the rights of deceived investors in court
About 30 Ukrainian banks refused to pay money to the Crimean investors after the annexation of the peninsula to Russia. The total number of victims - more than 200 thou. People, one third of them - clients owned by Kolomoisky Privatbank. Obligations to compensate for losses (up to 700 thousand rubles.) Took over the Russian Fund for the Protection of Depositors (RZV).
Deceived Crimeans appealed to the prosecutor's office, stating that the RHF violated their rights by refusing to consider claims of compensation payments.
It turned out that FZV does not consider applications, “to which the documents confirming the size of Privatbank’s obligations to deceived depositors are attached to the printouts from the remote banking service of PJSC KB Privatbank: Bank-Client”. Refusal to accept documents is based on the fact that printouts are not official documents.
However, “these are the only documents that can be provided by depositors of the bank, whose divisions on the peninsula ceased their work,” the prosecutor’s press service said.
“Considering this circumstance, as well as the fact that the information generated using the remote banking service system makes it possible to identify a specific depositor and contain information on the presence and amount of obligations to him, the prosecutor’s office appealed to the court in defense of Privatbank’s clients”- said in a press release.
In his lawsuit, the prosecutor of Crimea refers to the fact that “the federal law on the protection of the interests of bank depositors on the territory of Crimea does not establish mandatory requirements for the form of documents confirming the size of the contribution.”
According to Interfax, currently, FZV accepts applications in Crimea from “customers of the following Ukrainian banks: Privatbank, Imexbank, VAB Bank, Terra Bank, Finrostbank, Accent Bank, Avant Bank, Oschadbank, Ukrgasbank, Ukrainian Innovation Bank, State Bank Export-Import Bank of Ukraine, Finbank, Pivdenkombank, Eurogasbank, Piraeus Bank MKB, Brokbusinessbank, Real Bank, Express Bank, Energobank, as well as Kievan Rus, Finance and Credit, Financial Initiative, Pivdenny "," Khreshchatyk "," Daniel "," Kapi al "," Clearing House "," Nadra "," Arcade "and" Raiffeisen Bank Aval "."
