How the 30 brigade died: the story of the survivor in the meat grinder

I am not a traitor or alarmist. But what happened to the thirtieth brigade from Novograd-Volynsk deserves the most attentive glance of the public. To keep silent about it is to betray the country and the guys left to lie in the land of Donetsk. Betray their families and people, giving their best sons under command ... ... owls with big stars on shoulder straps. I don’t want to criticize anyone here, I just hope that the story of a shaky Berdichev boy who managed to stay alive in those events will help the Ukrainians to realize that the incompetent officer is worse than Yanukovych ...
Igor (name changed) was drafted into the army in Berdichev in March. “For ten days, for retraining,” the Berdichev military commissar explained. From Berdichev they were sent to Novograd, to the 30 brigade. They were engaged in fire training - 12 cartridges for a day, and so for two weeks. Then there were exercises together with the 26 Brigade, further to the war. The task of the unit in which Igor served was to escort military supply supply columns. We came under fire, but God spared, and only the burned-out trucks marked the combat path of the soldiers. In late July, the entire brigade was gathered together and sent to the village of Solnechnoye, Donetsk Region. They repaired, refueled, replenished ammunition and went to the village Stepanovka, Donetsk region. Stepanovka has already been released, but the terra fired at him with mortars. On the first day, the brigade lost three men from mortar fire. Housed in cellars and cellars, service began. The soldiers' task was to patrol the territory, guard the roadblocks, and clean up the settlements under control.
Events 12 August, Igor will remember for a lifetime. He remembered the conversation of two gunners from the SAU battery in the morning a few hours before the crash: “Kolya, this is x ... some kind. We shoot and do not change positions, but they will cover us. ” “Go tell the commander, he has already become smarter and received a command from the command. They said they should stand here, ”answered the source. In war, all the rules written out the blood of the dead fighters. And if the teams are at odds with the rules, the soldier chute starts to work and expect the bad. Igor was “lucky,” if so he and two other soldiers were sent to reconnaissance in the evening to determine the presence and deployment of fire weapons and the accumulation of enemy manpower.
The boys walked away from theirs for three or four kilometers and found a standing tank convoy of 18 T-90 tanks! An attempt to contact the command of them almost cost a life - three tanks of military guard drove past the scouts lying in the grass. The nearest tank almost crushed the fighters - "you could touch it with your hand." After the tanks approached the convoy and stopped, the scouts contacted the command, and, indicating the square of the cluster of tanks, they asked for artillery fire. The tanks stood for about an hour, but there was no shelling. Moreover, the infantry on the Kamaz trucks drove up to the tanks, and the troops began to disperse. Tanks and infantry began to surround the village - scouts once again contacted the command and reported on the situation - 30 Kamazs with people and 21 T-90 tanks. This time, the command reacted (this was later learned by Igor from the surviving soldiers) - left Stepanovka, not yet surrounded, leaving one staff officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Around 10 in the evening, a disaster began. The village and the location of the troops covered rocket tornado. For more than two hours, the Grads dug up the positions of the 30 Brigade, and then tanks and infantry went to clean up the village. Igor believes that these were Russian troops - the terrorists did not have T-90 tanks. The retreat of the Ukrainian divisions began, or rather, what was left of them ... Ours retreated in the direction of Saur-Grave.
Thus, the three scouts were in the rear of the separatists. The scouts lay in the field until the morning, watching the suitable supply columns for the enemies. All night the guys tried to contact the command to find out what to do in this situation. But the radio was silent. In the morning they contacted and received a command to advance to the village of Solnechnoye. Moving along a country road. Thus stumbled upon a separatist UAZ with three fighters. In the course of the attack on the car, “we were shooting only at the windows and doors” and they captured the vehicle and got almost to their destination — they saw them and started hitting them with a mortar. They threw the car and went Zelenko ...
A shock awaited them in the village. During the attack of the separatists and the Russian troops, the 18 tanks of the brigade were completely destroyed, the SAU battery and other armored vehicles were completely destroyed. And the entire brigade in Solnechny turned out to be two tanks, shot down, but dropping by a miracle, and the BRM. A lot of people died, but how many exactly, then did not know. But the command did not forget about the soldiers, and they were given the command to advance to the Saur-Grave with the remnants of the troops. The second part of the tragedy broke out there ... Igor has no strength to recall about it. Then the survivors were given a command to move to Novograd, in the location of the brigade "in order to calculate and compile lists of the living." Counted. From 4500, soldiers and officers in Novograd-Volynsk turned out to be 83, another 500 in different places in Ukraine, mostly repairmen, doctors, snipers ... Where the rest, fathers will find out the commanders.
Today, Igor in Berdichev. Without money, but alive. What happens next - does not know. They were sent home, and said they would decide soon what to do with them further ... Nothing is known about the fate of the “lost” almost four thousand soldiers and officers of the 30 brigade.
