15 samples of automotive vehicles designed for the needs of the Ministry of Defense have been tested in Russia
Military specialists completed tests of 15-ti promising samples of vehicles, held in the sandy, desert-heat and mountainous regions of Russia, according to the website Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
In two months, the equipment overcame a specially chosen route with a length of 4,2 thousand km, which passed through Bronnitsy, Volgograd, Enotaevka (Astrakhan region), Astrakhan, Terskop (Kabardino-Balkaria) and back.
The press service of the department indicated that “The purpose of the expedition was to confirm the performance of technical characteristics and the possibility of military operation of promising samples of military vehicles in high temperatures, high dustiness and mountainous terrain, identifying the main directions for improving the design of samples to increase their technical level, as well as gaining experience in using military units parts of tasks for the purpose in real conditions of military operation of hot-desert and mountain locally STI.
As part of the 4-x support vehicles, there was a unique mobile laboratory that monitored the indicators of "supporting maneuverability of vehicles based on the KAMAZ-5350 and the ChMZAP 83352 trailer with vans".
When working in conditions of arid and dusty terrain, road tests were carried out “according to average and maximum speeds, fuel and oil running costs, maneuverability and maneuverability of equipment”.
In high-altitude conditions, the capabilities of the machines to overcome mountain passes were determined, "the average speeds of movement on the ascent and descent when the engines operate on the primary and backup fuel." The effectiveness of the engine, brake and steering systems on the characteristic modes of motion was also studied. In addition, "the reliability of starting a cold and hot engine at the top of the pass and a number of other requirements of the Ministry of Defense were assessed."
In the course of mining tests, the machines rose to 3,8 km, and individual samples to 4,5 km.
The Ministry of Defense noted the “high scientific and practical significance of the work carried out”, which allowed to restore the base “to conduct such studies that have not been conducted in natural conditions over the past 20 years”, as well as to formulate the requirements for the adopted equipment.
According to the press service, the following machines participated in the tests: “4х4 all-terrain vehicle of the company Russian Mechanics OJSC; 2 special vehicles of the company NPO "TREKOL"; special vehicles that have passed state acceptance testing by ZAO Zaschita Scorpion (LSHA-2) and (LSHA-2B); a large group of promising equipment of JSC AZ Ural - Ural-542301-10 and Ural-63704 with imitation of the load on the saddle of the tractor, protected vehicle Typhoon-U, Ural-432009 (Ural-BB); KAMAZ vehicles - KAMAZ-53501-399 and NEFAZ-4208-24 rotational bus.
