Official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports that the Russian-Mongolian military exercises "Selenga-2014" started on the territory of Mongolia. The servicemen of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation made a forced march from Bayan-Tumen station to the Munh Hat test site.
Not only ground units take part in the exercises, but also air force units. In particular, these are the crews of the Mi-24 helicopters, which flew around the landfill area before the start of maneuvers.
In total, about 500 troops of the BB, who serve in military units of Transbaikalia, take part in the Selenga exercises. In addition, during the exercises it is planned to use more than a hundred units of military equipment.
The main task of servicemen taking part in the Selenga-2014 exercise is to develop interaction skills when blocking an enemy group from illegal armed groups.
