Wheel-mounted military tow truck mimics Namibian spider

63
News portal Gearmix presented a draft of a military medical vehicle (monocycle) called RollEvac, which was developed by a young Tunisian designer named Sadok Sakly.

RollEvac is a medical transporter concept using biomimicry. It is intended for evacuation and rescue operations in a combat situation. His image is inspired by the appearance of a golden rolling spider (Carparachne aureoflava), which in situations requiring quick escape, turns its body in a wheel and rolls down from the sand dunes.

It is reported that the vehicle “moves in a standing position, rolling on the ground with the help of spring-loaded legs, which create traction. The armored outer hull protects passengers whose position is stabilized inside the vehicle. ”

          Agree

Thought should not stand still, but it is already necessary to implement it for reasons of expediency

Won China for a long time "does not break his head", but copies existing samples with some adjustments. And regarding this idea, it's still a utopia (an unmanned crap rolls around a field where there are all kinds of obstacles ...), if you make a drone (an individual transport vehicle), then it is better to concentrate on a flying sample, which will solve the main task of quickly delivering the wounded for medical assistance ...

any development of new technology directly or indirectly contribute to the development of technology.

A few days ago there was a program on Zvezda, in which they showed an ambulance transporter based on Luaz.
Released about 20 thousand, Stand (possibly) on conservation.
This concept of a sanitary conveyor is more promising, only you need to think about a three-axle model with ground clearance like a UAZ. Something similar in the USSR was made by one inventor from St. Petersburg. Someone older probably remembers his model for grandtourism Pangonin.
And in the form of a large wheel, even if robotic, it will be just a target. You can think about how to lower the height and not in the form of a wheel, but in the form of an oval, a sort of tumble-field. In any case, a triaxial transport of the Luazik type can be used in civilian life, and this is a technical miracle ... winked

The US Army is 100% contact, that is, "ordinary" guys in the US deliberately conclude contracts for being sent to countries where their bosses have ignited another military-shitty conflagration. And not large-scale? Or maybe we will cancel the sanitary helicopters that they create in the air. Of course, the concept causes confusion primarily in terms of patency on the battlefield and its dimensions (and will it definitely be on the battlefield?), But this is movement in the right direction. The Nazis had a similar pepelats.

The object, which will be discussed below, is in the museum of armored vehicles in Kubinka near Moscow. Information on this machine is completely missing. No one can say for sure what it is. All that researchers and historians were able to find out was that they had captured the “tank” on the Eastern Front (the place and time of the trophy was not known), and that its armor was only 5 millimeters thick.

Inside the “tank” there is a place for an observer (apparently, the machine was used as a reconnaissance) and a single-cylinder two-stroke engine. "Tank" is a cylindrical compartment, on the sides of which are two rotating hemispheres, which served as the mover. At the back is a small tail support roller, like a children's tricycle. In the frontal part, at the eye level of the driver-mechanic, there is a viewing gap. Inquiries by specialists to Germany regarding additional information did not yield any results. They also have no idea about this brainchild of design thought.

        LuAZ-972/1901. (1982 - 1991)
In 1982, in Lutsk, prototypes of a promising air transportable floating transporter LuAZ-972 (6x6) with three evenly spaced driving bridges, including two front steering axles, which were assigned the military code "Geologist", were collected. Structurally, the car was a serial LuAZ-967M, to which a pair of medium-sized steered drive wheels were added, identical to the front ones. Formally, he remained a sanitary TPK and was equipped with two longitudinal stretchers or rear benches for six people, but in fact it was a light weapons transporter. The idea of this machine arose in the process of creating biaxial TPKs with weapons systems, which were supposed to be used for covert delivery of combat crew with the Igla portable anti-aircraft missile system. Like its predecessor, a triaxial TPK with a payload of 550 kg had a central driver's seat, was equipped with the previous chassis units, a sealed body and a front winch. In 1984, he passed state tests at 21 research institutes and received recommendations for significant revision.

In the Union of Samodelkina, such monocycles were collected in a garage on their knees ... Due to the width of the wheel, the device’s patency is, of course, good, but a multi-seat device is rapidly increasing dimensions, because the center of gravity should be significantly lower than the axis of rotation. Ergo - we get a bulky vulnerable device. Better a squat buggy, IMHO ...
