Trident - Ukrainian fork
At first, the small coat of arms seemed to me similar to an open book, only very strangely stylized, in front of which for some reason a bowling pin was depicted. But when I looked at Wikipedia and read what actually symbolizes the small coat of arms, everything turned out to be even worse.
As the small coat of arms of Ukraine, a tribal sign of the Russian princes of Rurik is used. This symbol is known for the ancient coins of the times of Kievan Rus, in particular, for Prince Vladimir srebrenik.

In principle, this in itself is interesting. To use the symbol of the Russian prince as a coat of arms (even a small one) and call for "moskalyaku to be a gilyak", call Russian invaders and so on - these are not even bees against honey, they are bees against themselves, and at the same time against the hive, nectar and beekeeper. What we are seeing.
It is noteworthy that there is no consensus even on what symbolized the tribal mark of Rurikovich, which became the small emblem of Ukraine. Some believe that this is a stylized image of a falcon-Rarog falling on prey. Others see in this sign an image of a scepter, anchor, trident or pitchfork.
In my opinion, the falcon is not very similar. But even if this is the case, I cannot find anything good in this sign. The question immediately arises: what prey the falcon falls on and what will happen when it falls?
If you look at what is happening, the version of a falcon falling on prey becomes very understandable. The last 23 of the year, Ukraine is doing nothing but falling for this or that prey. Then on Russian gas, then on a European loan. And every time falls.
In domestic policy, too, solid drops, and also for prey. Each Maidan-is essentially a raider seizure of power. Falconry with all the characteristic features.
And across the country it’s the same: the oligarchs take plants, newspapers, steamboats from each other, prey on resources, fight for power, and the country falls, falls, falls.
When, as a result of the last Maidan, power was obtained entirely, they still could not calm down. Instead of rejoicing at the booty, the boys continued their hunt - they began to attack activists of Russian organizations, regionalists, communists, supporters of federalization, and then in general everyone who wears the St. George ribbon or openly criticizes the authorities.
Well, what else can a country do, the symbol of which is a falling falcon? Apparently, nothing.
The version about the trident is not much better. What makes a trident on the coat of arms of the state? What does he symbolize? The power of Neptune? So it seems to be not a sea empire. Or that weaponwhich gladiators used in ancient Rome? Or is it a fork that symbolizes the principle of "usu zim"?
If we consider a trident as a pitchfork (Lyashko, by the way, stylized his letter C in his pitchfork) - this is generally a symbol of popular revolt, elemental, senseless and merciless. What we are seeing.
And do not say that the pitchfork is a symbol of peasant labor. The sickle and ears of corn have always been the symbol of peasant labor. A pitchfork, especially raised up - this is the symbol of popular revolt. Because the peasants lift the forks up with teeth up only in two cases: when hay is thrown on the stack (but there must be hay on the forks) and when they go to rebel and burn the estate of their pan.
And the most regrettable is that there is no official interpretation of the coat of arms, not a single opinion among the people as to what it means. And when there is no consensus, everyone sees his own coat of arms and acts on his own. What we are seeing. Someone rushes to the prey like a falcon, someone goes to rebel, someone vigorously wields a fork in all the plates, to which they can reach. And someone is waiting for the weather by the sea, suggesting the arrival of Neptune and the solution of all problems in a miraculous way. Well, the bowling alley too can not be excluded from the list.
Someone will say that it is not necessary to search for any meaning in the emblem, that it is just an icon, who knows what picture is drawn? Vaughn, on the coat of arms of Russia in general, "mutant eagle".
And no. Coat of arms is not just like that. And the eagle from Russia is not anyhow.
The double-headed eagle, which is the main element of the Russian coat of arms, is an ancient heraldic symbol that was used in Byzantium, and there is earlier evidence of the use of the double-headed bird in heraldry. The Russian eagle has such an interpretation that one head looks west and the other east, which symbolizes two main areas of Russian politics - European and Asian. At the same time, the double-headed eagle symbolizes the continuity of traditions, since it is an old historical a symbol that has survived the change of many eras. Ask any Russian - he will say that the double-headed eagle is a symbol of the Russian Empire. And this is already enough, because the Russian Empire was not the last state in the world and in its history there have been enough victories and achievements, which can and should be proud of. Therefore, the Russian coat of arms is filled with more than meaning. And this meaning is not contradictory, and it does not carry aggression, ideas of robbery or life at the expense of others. And the Russians do not deny their historical and cultural roots, but rather are proud of them. Note that no one in Russia accuses Byzantium of occupation and does not call for the hanging of the Greeks.
Of course, no one in everyday life makes decisions based on the images on the coat of arms. When we choose a beer, car, or looking for a job, we don’t ask ourselves whether the Guinness or Heineken is more appropriate for a coat of arms, dark or light, Nissan or Ford, Eniki-Beniki or Siemens representative office.
But when we see the image of the coat of arms day after day, when our officials and politicians sign documents every day that show the coat of arms, its symbolism and meaning are fixed in the mind, and then in the subconscious. And if the emblem bears the symbolism of a state with a thousand-year history, in which Mendeleev and Lomonosov were born, Pushkin and Tolstoy, who had great emperors and commanders who went through wars many times and knows what it is, all of this insures against rash decisions. Politically and officials, willy-nilly, compare their actions with those of their predecessors, take into account both the mistakes and the successes of the past. Not always, of course, but a bit more often than if there were documents with incomprehensible geometric figures in front of them.
And when the coat of arms is printed on the documents, depicting something unknown whether it is a falling falcon, or a fork, or a pin, will this policy help you make the right decision? Will there be anything worthwhile at the crucial moment of the story?
The fact that the sign of Rurikovich is used on the small coat of arms of Ukraine, which Ukrainian nationalists consider to be occupiers, is simply not thought of by the majority, otherwise they would have changed their coat of arms long ago, or they would have stopped appealing to hang Muscovites and think about whether Russians or Europeans are closer to them.
But Rurikovich were very long. Ukrainians do not remember about them. They also don’t remember about where Sevastopol, Odessa and Nikolaev came from, although less than three centuries have passed since their foundation, they don’t even remember about Rurik, who ruled a thousand years ago. Therefore, the semantic connection of the small coat of arms of Ukraine with the history of the Russian princes was lost. Associations with the falling falcon, trident and pitchfork remained.
And also ... with something this sign reminds me of Sauron's mask. Or is it just me having such associations?
Judging by what is happening in Ukraine, not only me. When a crowd of orcs arranged pogroms on Independence, burned their own police, and later their own countrymen in Odessa, some of this association, apparently, just emerged from the subconscious. It is difficult to explain otherwise.
And the image of a falcon falling on prey has also become a guide to action for many. And forks - for people like Lyashko.
Pitchfork is an interesting symbol. In addition to popular rebellion, it means a choice, a dilemma in which all decisions are bad.
Go to the right, Ilya, you will lose the country. If you go to the left, you will lose your head. And you will go straight - you will become like Lyashko.
So it turns out. If you believe coming from Kiev news.
