The sad fruits of the Syrian Ramadan

That ended the next holy month for Muslims - Ramadan. Despite the fact that he is peaceful in nature - but in Syria, because of the actions of hired terrorists who pray not to God, but to the golden calf, Ramadan is remembered for its tragedies. Among the unfortunate fruits of Syrian Ramadan - organized by the so-called "opposition" double massacre in the villages of al-Khattab and Taxis in the province of Hama 9 and 10 July frequent mortar attacks on residential Damascus neighborhoods and suburbs, the bloody terrorist attack in the neighborhood of Homs Al-Armani 27 July, using a car bomb , stoning a young woman in the city of Tabka in the east of the country, the massacre of militants over captured soldiers and civilians in the province of Rakka, as well as in the territory of the gas field Shaar in the province Homs (called a different number of deaths in this tragedy, according to the latest data - is 340 people).
Despite the pain, the Syrians, like the Muslims of other countries, celebrate the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. In Syria, all holidays have always been celebrated together together, despite differences in their religions. In most parts of the country under the control of the legitimate authority, cafes, restaurants and other places of recreation are overcrowded. In the territories that are still under the control of terrorists, they are completely different, gloomy orders — for Islamist radicals even distort Muslim holidays and darken them, generally prohibiting people from enjoying life.
It didn’t stand aside from Eid al-Fitr and the leadership of the country, but for those in charge this is not just a holiday.
President Bashar Al-Assad took part in a prayer on the occasion of the end of Ramadan in the Al-Heyer Mosque along with the Supreme Mufti Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassun, state and party leaders. Then he talked to the parishioners, as always, closely surrounded him. It should be noted that the area in which this mosque is located was subjected to mortar fire from terrorists, fortunately, there were no casualties.
Prime Minister Vail Al Khalki and Defense Minister Fahed Jassem Al Freige visited the Youssef Al Azme Hospital in the capital, where wounded Syrian army soldiers are being treated. Al-Freydzh and Al-Khalki congratulated the soldiers, thanked them for their deeds and valor, and wished them a speedy recovery. In addition, they inquired about the work of medical staff and the assistance provided to patients.
Chief of General Staff Ali Abdullah Ayub visited the wounded in another military hospital in Damascus - “Tishrin”, as well as several military units in the province of Damascus, also congratulating the soldiers and commended their heroism in the fight against terrorist groups.
While Syria is summing up the sad results of Ramadan and congratulating each other on the holiday, the struggle around Syria and the Middle East as a whole also continues in the international arena.
At the initiative of the Russian Federation, the UN Security Council adopted a special statement by the chairman (this is considered the second most important document after the resolution) on the inadmissibility of buying oil from terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq.
According to the document, the purchase of oil from organizations such as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and Dzhebhat An-Nusra, may lead to sanctions against the participants of such transactions. This can be seen as financial support for terrorists. The statement also reaffirmed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and Iraq and the right of their control over their natural resources.
However, the US slowed down the adoption of the statement and did everything possible to soften it. Initially assumed even tougher text. But, as Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, said: “We had bilateral negotiations with the United States. The American delegation did everything in its power to soften the text as much as possible. We would prefer to make a much stronger statement. ” He added that for this reason the application, the draft of which was submitted by Russia in June, was accepted only now (at the very end of July).
Nevertheless, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed satisfaction with the adoption of this document. A statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry said: “The UN Security Council sent a clear and clear signal to all parties that any such deals with terrorists are unacceptable. It is stated that sanctions measures under the SC line can be used against violators of this prohibition. ”
Characteristically, the statement was not about any "moderate Syrian opposition", which Washington likes to interpret. The ban concerned precisely extremist organizations: "The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" and "Dzhebhat An-Nusra." In this regard, the obstacles that put the United States in this document, can only cause surprise. After all, the American leadership has always claimed that it does not support these terrorist organizations, but the so-called "moderate" ones. But then why soften the statement? Is it only because it was represented by Russia?
A more likely other explanation is that the United States itself does not too much believe in the separation of the terrorists operating in Syria, as well as in Iraq, into “moderate” and “radical.” Therefore, they realized that the threat to terrorists emanating from the decision of the UN Security Council concerns not only the “radicals”, but also the entire notorious “opposition”. On the other hand, they could not fully oppose the statements of the United States, since this would mean too open and shameless support of extremist terrorists.
It remains only to bring such an important document to life. However, certain problems may arise from this, since the United States, which has put the “stick in wheels” statement, will most certainly be relevant to the problem further, covering up criminals.
