Flight tactical exercises started in the south of Russia

In the Southern Military District (Rostov and Stavropol Regions), 3-day tactical flight exercises began, during which around 30-ti helicopters will conduct combat firing of unguided missiles, reports RIA News with reference to the press service of the military department.

Exercises of this scale, for which two airborne units are involved simultaneously, are held twice a year. Military pilots, performing assigned tasks, operate within a single plan.

“The crews have to destroy the airborne assault enemy, as well as provide fire support to the advancing motorized infantry tank units »

indicated in the press service.

In total, 300 military personnel are involved in the maneuvers, including pilots and ground specialists.

Before departures and combat launches, the pilots received a ten-hour additional training on 3D simulators. They will have to make practical launches of unguided PCs, as well as firing 23-mm cannons and 12,7-mm machine guns at various targets at the Arzgir range.

The crews will perform tasks as part of the links on the Mi-24, Mi-8AMTSH, Ka-52 "Alligator", Mi-35, and Mi-28Н "Night Hunter" machines.
