The first Mi-28H appeared in the flight center in Torzhok more than 8 years ago and had a minimum of instruments. For example, the navigator in the cockpit were only a clock, speed meter and altimeter, everything else was closed with plugs. Flights on them were carried out practically around the tower. Since then, much has already been improved, but the helicopter avionics are still damp, there are ongoing improvements. As pilots say: "The car is good, maneuverable, but the electronics can be buggy."

On the Mi-28H, the navigator is engaged in a cannon and guided missiles, and the commander is only the NARs. In extreme cases, the commander can use a gun if it is set motionless along the axis of the helicopter. The commander cannot use guided missiles.

In the new cockpit almost all the same instruments were installed as the commander, but they are arranged more conveniently, now you don’t have to look around to find them. The navigator will finally have a machine control stick, which is not on the current versions.

Each helicopter is equipped with a video registration system, which removes the car’s cab from three points, and the recording of the radio is being recorded. Also, for example, when taking off for combat use (firing on the range), the commander deliberately pronounces all his actions out loud, so that in case of anything, you can make out the mistakes while listening to the audio recording of the objective control system.

Retraining on the Mi-28H from another helicopter takes about one and a half months before the first flight. From Monday to Saturday, the daily classes of three pairs, then take tests to engineers. If you passed the test, then you get an admission to the first flight. First, flying through the system to the zone, then a route flight, then a flight for combat use (firing).

At the moment there are problems with the heating system, because in winter, while the navigator freezes, the commander is very hot. Air conditioning works fine. Perhaps this problem will be solved in new helicopters.

The first machines had problems with the anti-icing system, since when it was turned on, blades made of composite materials began to melt. The helicopter was specially distilled to Anadyr to test the new system in harsh conditions. At the moment it is functioning properly.

In December 2010, one of the “twenty-eighths” was tested in the mountains of the Caucasus, based on the airfield of Nalchik. Now in the same place one of the Torzhok Ka-52 passes the same tests.

15 February 2011, one of the Mi-28H helicopters crashed near Budyonnovsk, after which, until the causes of the crash were clarified, flights on it were prohibited.

Since the end of May, flying is allowed again, because The cause of the accident was found. If you have previously sinned in problems with the gearbox, or blamed the nut that was unscrewed, the investigation revealed the following:
- in each gearbox there is a measuring window through which the oil level is regulated. During one of the helicopter services, this window was slightly fired by welding and darkened. As a result, this dark trail looked like an oil level. One of the engineers of the aviation complex (a technician of helicopters who do not have a bortekhnika) instead of the 1.8 put by a liter of oil, focusing on this strip, filled only 0.75 of a liter. Nine and a half hours the helicopter flew off, after which the oil ran out and the screw began to break. It would seem that only a dark spot, but such consequences ...

At the moment, Mi-28H in Torzhok flies very actively.
