Identified some of the faces in the photo. Photos (from the first to the seventh) show the military ambulance train №81 named after EI Vys. Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna.
The second photo shows the elder sister of mercy A. N. Enden with the chief physician, train commandant, Viktor Nikolaevich Finne, an outstanding physician-hypnologist, psychiatrist, professor, an excellent guitarist, who died in 1930 in Belbaltlag from tuberculosis and torture.
In the third photo, among those sitting: chief physician V.N. Finne, surgeon Shimanovsky, therapist Dmitry Vladimirovich (surname is not yet known), surgical nurse Karel, sister Makarova, sister Korf, sister Bartenev, older sister A.N. Enden.
In the seventh photo, V.N. Finne takes a food sample before lunch (there was such a mandatory procedure).
The photo was taken not earlier than in the spring of 1915. And in the spring of 1916 the train got up for repairs from Petrograd and, I suspect, after that received a new command and a new number - 164/14. Maybe there were two different trains.
My cousin great-grandmother was an older sister of mercy there and left behind a description of her service and several photos. The book of her memoirs comes out in February.

In my family archive there are similar photographs, a medical train and great-grandfather among the military.

And for whom is this train? Where are the wounded? where are the patients?

Such a train carries the wounded and sick only in one direction - to the rear. Returns empty.

I am looking for information about the medical train 1040. I found in St. Petersburg an extract from the personal files of Smolny’s pupils, my grandmother was in this train. But there’s no more info, a mysterious train.
