The evolution of the classic SVL
The basis of the box of the first production model of the Tsar Cannon was a modified bed of the REM Police model. It was expanded in width under the new KING group and strengthened in comparison with the BR-boxes. The result is this:
The assembled 2009 product of the year has the following appearance:
The very first SVL was collected, oddly enough, right away in .408 Cheytac. A little later, SVL received other larvae (magnum and supermagnum), as well as different coating options (in the “figure” picture Duracoat). The rifle in the picture below was made in the 300 Winchester magnum and so far with the 3000 shooter shots, the 20mm groups from 5 are shooting at 300 meters on average.
The development of the 2010 model of the year lay in the area of its refinement, primarily for the tasks of ultra-long range shooting. Many tests were carried out on 2000m and further, according to the results of which various parameters of the product were refined: the length and contour of the trunk, the mass, methods of reducing recoil. The experiments concerned the filler of the box, the thickness and the composition of the “crust”, the composition of the bedding. The KING group was also finalized. She received a new push button shutter stop and an integrated receiver bar. Itself SVL overgrown with a new body kit for fixing night lamps (Daedalus).
In the Emirates, work on the model was continued.
She received the index KS-11 (decoding King_action Single_action - 2011 y). The changes affected the cheek adjustment mechanism,
as well as the transfer of all sizes of the bolt group to the metric system (in the CPU, all production, both receiver and general mechanical, was on a single inch system).
A new composite bed was developed from scratch, originally tied to the dimensions of our box and taking into account the specific features of operation of this type of box.
In the photo version of January 2011, as it was presented at the international defense exhibition IDEX.
Changes touched the dale on the trunk. It was nothing more than a cosmetic show off, which was later abandoned.
The photo below shows the next version of the SVL of the 2012 model of the year. The changes again touched the mechanisms for adjusting the cheek, the geometry of the lodge and the manufacturability of the bolt group. It was becoming easier to do it, but some of these changes in the action were, how to put it, uh, superfluous ... But this, of course, IMHO.
Nevertheless, it all looked very, very good. With equipment and technology for different fashionable coatings, everything was quite up to standard.
In the future, KS-11 received a new, more effective muzzle brake, necessary mainly for 408CT and with other cosmetic changes, one might say, with respect to the appearance, it has become almost perfect.
Later, on the basis of KS-11, a store version was developed with the KM-11 index with a whole set of different choke devices, which in turn served as the basis for the so-called STR (Semi-Tactical Rifle).
Model 2014 of the year - SVLC-14 received 1.5 times more effective muzzle brake and enhanced bed: changed the composition of bedding, added carbon fiber layers and changed the gain map, and finally, the aluminum tire was integrated into the box almost the full length of the box. Such measures are taken precisely for the sake of the powerful 408 Cheytac. The box received a classic kick of recoil.
