The duty of "Satan" will last another 5 years

104
The introduction of a complete ban on military-technical cooperation with Russia by the president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, has not yet affected the state of the Russian Strategic Nuclear Forces. Moreover, over the next five years, Russia will be freed from total dependence on Ukrainian colleagues for the timely maintenance of the most powerful intercontinental missile PC-20В “Voivod” in the world (according to the NATO classification - “Satan”). He writes about it Независимая газета.

The duty of "Satan" will last another 5 years

According to the publication in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, recently in the Strategic Missile Forces, measures have been completed to extend the time spent on combat duty of missile complexes. Including extended to 27 years of operational life missiles "Voyevoda".

Up to 1992, Satan was produced by Ukraine. Ukrainian specialists have so far helped exploit it. What happens next is unknown. But now the Russian military has a respite for a period of 5 years, because so much will be able to stand on RS-20В for duty-free operation. By the way, Ukrainian engineers took part in the last event to extend the deadlines. They arrived from the Dnepropetrovsk Yuzhnoye design bureau, where, in fact, the Voyevoda was created.

The source of the publication in the Ministry of Defense said that if the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau would be separated from Russia, then one of the domestic enterprises would take his place. Perhaps they will be a missile center "KB them. Academician V.P. Makeeva. This company was mentioned by the deputy head of Roskosmos, Sergey Ponomarev, when he commented on Poroshenko’s instructions regarding the ban on military-technical cooperation.

“KB named after academician V.P. Makeeva ”is capable of becoming a leader in extending the life of these heavy missiles. We are ready for this. ”
said Ponomarev.

Meanwhile, the deputy head of Roskosmos talked about missiles that have already been removed from combat duty, and are being planned for use in conversion programs, following the example of which, during the last week, small satellite 33 were put into orbit. The satellites were delivered by the old PC-20B, released in 1984 and removed from duty in 2009. It is noted that the flight demonstrated the reliability of liquid ballistic missiles. But this is a conversion program. And what about combat missiles? They, too, need to be checked.

Now on duty are the newer "Voivods", belonging to the fourth generation - PC-20В. By their characteristics, they differ from the third generation PC-20B. The most recent PC-20B test launch was carried out in 2009. This was done in order to extend the operational period to 23 years. Now the period has been extended to 27 years, but no test launches were made.

“Test launches can be replaced by other procedures and activities. For example, disassembling a rocket and checking its components on test benches. But it is better, of course, to practice launching and testing missiles already in practice. ”
thinks Colonel Vladimir Evseev, head of the Center for Political Studies, who previously served in the Strategic Missile Forces. He explained that bench testing is resorted to in cases where there are only a few tested missiles in the group.

It is known that only RS-2014В remained on combat duty by June 20 from “Governor”, but their number is unknown. It is clear that there are not many of them, but all that remains is the so-called piece goods, which provide Russia with parity with the Western powers.

Evseev himself believes that Russia will do without Dnepropetrovsk specialists and sees in their place all the same KB them. Academician Makeev. Now the company is developing a new complex "Sarmat", which over the years through 5-7 should change to "Governor". It is assumed that the "Sarmat" will surpass the Ukrainian rocket and will be produced using exclusively Russian production facilities.

But it will be later, and now Russian nuclear power is largely provided with missiles made in Ukraine.

The sense from them is great: they are part of the country's strategic nuclear forces and, by virtue of their flight characteristics, ensure the containment of cowboys from Texas. As for the BB, you can rest assured that it will work like a clock, maybe ... In short, the safety margin is at least 2, and in the modernized carrots, the fissile material (ignition charge) can be initiated even beyond the lifetime of the carrier. At your leisure, look at the device of old products, find the filling (reflectors, multipliers, moderators, etc.) and calm down, do not irritate the faint of heart on the site. They are poor fellows and so because of Ukraine it is not sweet. And here you are with your "sludge-polymers". It's not good, my friend.

BRUSSELS, 24 June. The EU welcomes the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federation Council to cancel the decree on the use of troops in Ukraine. Brussels also hopes for the immediate implementation of these steps, said Maya Kosyancic, spokeswoman for EU diplomacy Catherine Ashton.

"This will significantly contribute to the de-escalation of the situation and pave the way for a political solution to the present crisis," said the representative of the head of EU diplomacy, RIA Novosti reports.

According to her, the European Union also calls on Russia "to support the application of the peace plan presented by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and take effective measures to stop the flow of illegal fighters, weapons and equipment across the border to Ukraine."

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a letter to the Federation Council, where he made a proposal to cancel the Federation Council resolution "on the use of the RF Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine." This was done "in order to normalize the situation and resolve the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine, as well as in connection with the beginning of trilateral negotiations on this issue."

The missile regiment of the Tagil missile compound of the Strategic Missile Forces was redeployed to the area of a sudden check of combat readiness of the troops of the Central Military District and began to carry out missions on combat duty at field positions, the press service and information department of the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Tuesday.

“Within the framework of a sudden comprehensive check of the troops of the Central Military District, the strategic missile forces deployed in the district were put on full alert with the conclusion of military patrol routes (MBP),” the department said.

Previously, strategic rocket launchers worked out tasks and introductory tasks on engineering and radiation reconnaissance of the MBP and the field region.

“The Strategic Missile Forces units involved in a surprise audit will fulfill missions and introductory missions for their intended purpose in cooperation with the assigned units of combat, logistical support, security and reconnaissance, as well as carry out missile conditional launch tasks,” the press service added.

For a real designation of the actions of the “enemy”, imitation groups (groups for designating the actions of sabotage and reconnaissance units) from other missile formations of the association and the Central Military District will be involved.

Putin has prepared another trick, fear in Kiev

Kiev, June 24 (Navigator, Cyril Boyarin) - Vladimir Putin would not have abrogated the decision on the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine without requiring mutual concessions from the West.

This was announced to "Navigator" by political scientist Denis Kiryukhin.

“If Putin made a decision to withdraw this mandate for the introduction of troops, then this just indicates the presence of agreements with the European Union and the United States. I can’t say what kind of concession the West will make, but it’s obvious that the Russian president would not have done it unilaterally ”, http: //www.politnavigator.net/putin-prigotovil-ocherednuyu-khitrost-opa

I don’t want to correct the author much, he writes all the time about the rocket produced by Ukraine. This rocket was developed and produced by the forces of the Soviet Union, and as a result of the well-known tragedy of the USSR, the KB developer remained in Ukraine.

Maybe it would be more correct to write Soviet rocket? Otherwise, it turns out that the "Voevoda" was developed and produced by Ukraine alone, without the rest of the USSR

GDP closed the last weapons-grade plutonium enrichment plant already in 1994 !!!

        Yes, "Wiki" gives this info:
"The production of weapons-grade plutonium was carried out at the Mayak Combine in Ozersk (formerly Chelyabinsk-40, Chelyabinsk-65), at the Siberian Chemical Combine in Seversk (formerly Tomsk-7), and later at the Krasnoyarsk Mining and Chemical Combine in the city of Ozersk. Zheleznogorsk (also known as Sotsgorod and Krasnoyarsk-26). Production ceased in 1994. "
However, the last nuclear weapons-grade plutonium reactor ADE-2, which had worked in Russia for 46 for years, was shut down in April 2010. This raises at least two questions:
        1. Which of the plants was "closed" in 1994?
        2. Where did the plutonium accumulated in the reactor go after April 2010?
Well, the last one: What are the isotopes obtained after burning nuclear fuel in BN-2 reactors. Where they then go, and what comes of it.
        Sincerely.

Until August 1991, Ukraine as an independent state did not exist at all. So the missiles were made by the USSR. We should not exaggerate the role of Ukraine in the defense capability of Russia, otherwise it may seem that we can’t go anywhere without them. Quite the contrary, for whom will the Ukrainian defense enterprises, the metallurgical industry work? Nobody needs their products in Europe or America. approximately the same process takes place in fast neutron reactors, for example, in BN-600, which has been operating for thirty years, but since the neutrons there are exactly what this process also gives energy output, moreover, burning Uranus 235 turns Uranus 238 into (bloody Stalin reached) totalitarian Plutonium 239, and it turns out more than there was Uranium 235, and it can be used to turn the next portions of Uranus 238 into Plutonium 239, and it turns out more than burned out, so this reactor is called a breeder - multiplier, the resulting mixture of isotopes can be used in a conventional reactor thermal neutron but you can divide and get that very weapons-grade plutonium (yes, at the very factory that, suddenly, did not close).
So maybe this totalitarian BN-600 is going to close the same thing? But ... no, Moreover, the new BN-800 is being completed, and is already being prepared in the BN-1200 series.

that Russia will do without Dnepropetrovsk specialists

And where will they go to Turkey?

    Mikhail Delyagin:
For Kolomoisky, the very existence of Yuzhmash is unnatural and unacceptable. From his point of view, Yuzhmash should be destroyed at all costs, since for him it is a symbol of those times when people walked on two legs and have not yet dropped to all fours.

For us, the liquidation of the Ukrainian defense industry will mean certain losses: we will have to build about two dozen plants. But, firstly, this construction has partially begun, and secondly, we don’t even need to train workers and engineers, because we will receive a significant part of them from Ukraine in finished formas refugees.
The construction of the first plant of this kind for the production of helicopter engines began due to the insanity of private Ukrainian management before the disaster and should soon be completed. I think that other plants can be built within a reasonable time.

... no more than 25 billion dollars .. Rather, even less - and it will not be a waste, but an investment that is more than recouped, both commercially and socio-politically. In addition, for the production of a number of products it will not be necessary to build new plants, but it will be enough to expand existing capacities.
This money is there, it lies in the pocket of the Russian state, and it can take it out of there and put it on the table without any harm to itself. This is about 10% of the amount that has been lying on the accounts of the federal budget without movement for several years.

Considering the experience of Chernobyl with its low-power nuclear explosion, a dozen warheads will be enough. There is no real missile defense system for ICBM warheads anywhere in the world and will not be available in the near future. So that even the rusty "Satan" in its current quantity will not leave from the USA, Europe, and even more so the UK only shots from Hollywood films about the apocalypse. So, this topic should be closed.

Not bad. We could still leave the BZHRK in due time and it would be even better. They run yogli until the 20th year (they were launched in the late 80s - early 90s. By the way, who knows, can a Molodets rocket from the BZHRK be used in a mine version, replacing other missiles withdrawn from the Strategic Missile Forces?

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a letter to the Federation Council, where he made a proposal to cancel the Federation Council resolution "on the use of the RF Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine." This was done "in order to normalize the situation and resolve the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine, as well as in connection with the beginning of trilateral negotiations on this issue."

If there remains even one regiment of the Voivode (and this is 10 launchers), and at least a third of them reach the territory of the USA, then they will not be enough. The head parts are different, BUT - if they are monoblock, then - of high power, Hiroshima and Nagasaki are resting. So the extension of the military duty of the Voivode is good news. However, the work on the development, testing and commissioning of a new heavy ICBM Sarmat should now be considered one of the priority tasks for the rearmament of the Strategic Missile Forces.
Good luck to the developers and those who are currently on combat duty on the Voivode.

"... and now Russian nuclear power is largely provided by missiles produced in Ukraine" - if they were produced in the late 80s, then not in Ukraine, probably, but in the USSR?
As well as the Russian Federation, after the USSR, nothing was achieved anywhere. Only in corruption. And all these quilted jackets-warriors - they were still talked about in the TM magazines in the 80s. laughing
Although, of course, not funny. I’m okay, not so long already, and the children in this terrible under-state can live, without the right to anything except a beggarly salary or a chance to steal something — like Serdyukov.

I agree. What can I say. The people have the power that they deserve. Look at what is happening in Ukraine. And then on the comments on the Military Review site ...... Who is to blame for us? It’s our own fault. hi

McCain, once knocked down by the Vietnamese and having served his term in a cage, will now tear his hair out in some places out of anger that the Russians have lost nothing to her because the United States demanded that Potroshenko stop military relations with Russia. From the Internet about Yuzhmash in the light of recent events.

"... in Dnepropetrovsk, the Yuzhmash rocket-building enterprise is located, which maintains the RS-20 intercontinental ballistic missiles, better known as the Satan. It is this missile that is still the main missile for the Russian strategic missile forces
(even according to the plans of the Russian Defense Ministry to replace Satan, a key ICBM
it will remain at least until 2020).

After his appointment as governor, Kolomoisky first went to Yuzhmash. There he signed a memorandum of cooperation with the enterprise’s management, according to which the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration takes care of all political issues, searches for investors and ... ensures security with the help of territorial armed groups. It is clear that these agreements can be interpreted in a completely different way.
And this was the reason for serious concerns in Moscow. The risk of leakage of classified information is great. In particular, there is a threat that the technical documentation for the production of intercontinental missiles could be sold to a third party (there were rumors that Turkey could acquire the technology for the production of missiles) ..."

"... As you know, the Yuzhmash rocket-building corporation is still involved
in the defense system of Russia. The plant successfully implements civil Russian-Ukrainian space projects. The platform for the Kazakhstan K-Sat 1 launch vehicle, which the Russians ordered at UMZ, is already ready.
Its launch is scheduled for June in Russia at the Orenburg space center Yasny.
And now the Dnepropetrovsk governor "takes on all political issues concerning the enterprise and will contribute to the creation of a non-politicized industrial territory by the plant."

".. the military have a respite in five years ..." is a statement, and in five years they will get new missiles out of their pockets and already in the required quantity?
There is no respite and we are catastrophically late, because in addition to developing a rocket, you need production, equipment in production, and just rivet a bunch and deal with Amer’s anti-ballistic missiles.

Another question, why the question on ICBMs surfaced only now, and not 23 years ago, when the Soviet Union collapsed, even yesterday?
I think that for such a long time, even the supreme one could ask the question - guys, what will we do with the ICBMs?
Yes, it’s necessary to change this junk anyway, but for what? No, maybe we have something secret, so tell the people so, there are!
After all, nerve cells are not restored.

In general, the design bureau is trying to survive .. to work to cooperate. Takes on any "space work".
How many like in the world of KB? Yes, perhaps only one-KB South (together with Yuzhmash)
Work on the Voivode is only a small part of the work of the KB ... they generally do a lot of things
As in principle, many leading Ukrainian factories (for example, MS still produces manual meat grinders!)
In general, the Ukrainian space cluster includes quite a few enterprises that are all under the shadow of KB Yuzhnoye and Yuzhmash (but they are very significant and supply the RF also a lot of equipment)
    Yuzhmash for example
he collects tractors, trolleybuses, etc. .. It seems like with the Chinese they are establishing a line of cheap light tractors for Ukraine (the most profitable segment is compact tractors for different tasks)
in general, may God grant them health and success ...
By the way, they try to captivate young people in various non-standard and standard ways. Recently, an exhibition of drawings on a space theme was held.
