Tank biathlon in Alabino near Moscow

Office of the press service and information Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports that 23 June in the training complex of the 2 Guards motorized rifle Taman division under the settlement of Alabino in the Moscow region held the opening ceremony of the second All-Army competition of crews of combat vehicles of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

At the opening ceremony of the Russian stage of Tank Biathlon 2014, tankers of the Kantemirov’s division of the combined arms branch of the Western Military District held a demonstration performance in figure driving tanks in a limited area.

Soon after, the first stage of the competition began - the individual T-72B tank race.

Spectators will be able to watch all stages of the competition from special stands. Cheer for their teams arrived over 700 people - relatives, friends and members of public organizations. For them, organized an exhibition of military equipment and weapons, performances of creative teams and catering.

The Russian stage of “Tank biathlon-2014” will end on 28 June with a mixed relay of the best tank crews and infantry fighting vehicles of military districts.

For residents of Moscow and the Moscow region, special bus routes are organized from the Alabino parade area to the testing ground, which will run from 8: 00 to 9: 45.

Competition program:

June 23: the opening ceremony, the first round of the first stage - an individual race of tank crews;

24 Jun: conducting the second round of the first stage - the baton of tank crews;

25 Jun: conducting the first round of the second stage - the individual race of the BMP crews;

June 26: conducting the second round of the second stage - the relay of the BMP crews;

June 27: the third stage is sporting;

June 28: closing ceremony, the fourth stage - the mixed relay of tank crews and BMP crews.
