It is necessary to touch the new sign "Army of Russia" in more detail. "Design Bureau", which was engaged in the creation of a new sign, presented it in the following form:
This is a classic pentacle, which crosses a confident horizontal line, emphasizing stability, support and dignity.
When forming the image of the future mark, designers carefully treated the traditions and form of the Russian army, taking as a basis the five-pointed star, which for 3 thousands of years was perceived as a symbol of protection and security. The sign "Army of Russia" means moving forward and striving for new goals. The five-pointed star is strongly associated with the traditions and victories of the Russian army. This sign is respected and honored by both the older generation and young people.

The five-pointed star and the presence of the colors of the Russian flag on it - everything seems to be correct, aimed at displaying traditions and state symbols, but still it is alarming in this new symbol. As soon as a new sign appeared during the parade on Red Square on May 9, many of those present and watching the event via television noted that the state authorities are again trying to borrow the theme for symbolism from abroad.
Why again? - Recalling the borrowing of Peter I of the Russian tricolor from the Dutch. But if Peter changed at least the arrangement of colors, then the designers of the “Army of Russia” badge decided to return everything to normal — the arrangement of colors is exactly the same as on the flag of the Netherlands. If you look at the saturation (or rather, the desaturation) in blue, the symbol rather resembles the flag of Luxembourg, which, by the way, was also “born” not without the participation of the Dutch.

Interestingly, even in Luxembourg, judging by the latest polls from RTL Radio Luxembourg, 90% of the country's population are in favor of changing the national flag so that the flags of the Netherlands and VGL (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) are not confused.
The authors of the petition on the indicated (as a link) site of color and their order were reminded by the symbol “Pepsi”, which in itself looks ambiguous for the Russian army, because here the term “Pepsi generation” “pops up”, which is hardly possible to match with patriotism and readiness at any moment to stand up for your Fatherland.

Those who posted the petition offer their own version of the army symbol.

Of course, you can think about the fact that all speculations today look like a derivative of literalism, and that opponents of any character will always be there, but ... The main question that arises when considering the attempt to create the next draft of a new character for the Russian army is not even in what order will be arranged by the selected colors. He is, and why do you need to make this garden? History Russia is so rich that the desire to invent another version of symbolism looks more like a business project. Perhaps this is primarily a business project? After all, on the website of the main defense department appeared information that the new symbol "Army of Russia" is already actively used in the manufacture of souvenirs. That is, the symbol itself did not have time to officially become a symbol, but the souvenir products with its image have already been released and distributed, the equipment on the main square of the country passed on the Great Victory Day, the state TV and radio company Zvezda also changed the symbolism.
Last Saturday, a presentation of this sign took place at the Alabino training ground. The presence of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, led by Sergei Shoigu, at this presentation demonstrates that for the ministry, the adoption of a new symbol has become a good thing.

The next draft of the “Russian Army” badge is not the first version of the new symbolism. The previous versions, many of which clearly resembled something from the US Army graphic, did not receive recognition either among Russian servicemen or among the public.

Whether the new graphic brainchild from the Design Bureau will be tenacious and whether it will cause support is a big question, given the peculiarities of what was revealed at the last presentation. An even bigger question: can this sign replace the legendary red star?
