The true nature of the Ukrainian war
For many years I have been advocating for the state status of the Russian language in Ukraine, for the equality of Ukrainians and Russians, for federalization, etc. And nevertheless, it is quite clear to me that neither the struggle for language, nor the struggle for a more equitable distribution of power between the regions and the Center is not in itself worth a real civil war. Even the fight against Ukrainization, by itself, is not worth civil war, not worth destroying cities, it does not “pay back” the suffering of starving old children, who hide from bombing instead of enjoying their childhood. Still, pretending to be a “Ukrainian” Russian — just to spit, and the Russians in Ukraine were far from being in such a disenfranchised position as in Estonia, and not in such danger as in Chechnya. Those who are completely unbearable could emigrate to the Russian Federation. “It would seem that it was worthwhile for the Russians to once again give in a little, bend a little? And New Russia could avoid the onset of catastrophe. And aren't the Russians used to giving in, bending over, obeying someone else's impudence over the past 90 years? 1000 times gave way, give way to 1001 times, fools! And then on 1002, on 1003, etc. What are you worth? What suddenly rested? "
But this war, it seems to me, has a more fundamental reason, which rises above directly stated political reasons. This is not a war for “language,” not a war for regionalism. This is a war for human dignity. The real reason is that the Russians are tired of giving up. "Yawn" broke. But the Ukrainians did not understand this, failed to or did not want to restructure in time, they still think that the pliability of the Russians is a normal, “correct” state. And you just need to tighten up a little, press down, scare, and everything will be back to square one. - No, it will not return.
By the way, in this case I call Russians not only “passport Russians”, but also all those in Ukraine who were equated with Russians by the very same ukronacist propaganda: everyone who is turned away from Bandera, from pravosek, from insolent lies, from vile oligarchic muzzles , to whom the “right Ukrainians” have sworn allegiance and wish to feed their children. This is generally a “terrible secret” of the Ukrainian conflict, which we, the Russians, benefit from hiding from the Ukrainians themselves: the conflict in Ukraine is not between “ethnic Ukrainians” and “ethnic Russians”, but mainly between different local subethnos (Galicians, Little Russia and New Russia), who are in varying degrees of distance from the Russians. But if ukronatsists themselves, in their idiocy, are ready to write to the “Russians” everyone who is turned back from the Galician spill ukronatsizma, then we should be happy with that. You look, people themselves will believe that they are Russian. “Returning from Bandera, from pravosekov, from greasy hari, Peter the Pig?” Do you want to speak Russian? Do you want to be proud of the victory? It means that you are not Ukrainian, but ours, Russian! ”For the past two decades, the balance has been fluctuating. It was not clear who the “intermediate” Novorossiys would be in the end: little by little, they would be made soft by the Ukrainians, or they would still be Russian. Now it is clear that the Russians. And all this - thanks to the "wise" ukronatsistskoy propaganda.
Look again at this picture: even in the Novorossiysk grandmother left without a house you will not find in your eyes neither fear nor servility: only reproach and contempt. The Russians are tired of being afraid, tired of giving in, tired of seeing themselves in their native Novorossia as “second-rate people”, “the wrong Ukrainians” speaking the “wrong language”. In national oppression, the main thing is not material damage, but the imposition of an oppressed feeling of inferiority. My father, who survived the German occupation as a child, wanting to describe his experience, did not tell about hunger and other difficulties, but remembered only the main thing: “they didn’t consider us as people”. And it is not by chance that many in Novorossia started talking today about the “fight against fascism”, they remembered the affairs of the past days: they felt the most important thing about the attitude of the Ukrainians to themselves. It is this: "they do not consider us equal to themselves." “They believe that we, in our own land, in our New Russia, as Russians, should feel inferior, wrong citizens, second-rate people. They think that we should be ashamed of the fact that we are Russians, not ukronatsis. They think that we should think about our New Russia as a “foreign” land, where we are something like migrants or invaders, and ukronatsista are the masters ”.
After the beginning of the current conflict, especially after the return of the Crimea, among Svidomo Ukrainian and Russian Noviop public a wave of admonitions began on the theme: “Come to your senses! You risk losing the Ukrainians as a friendly and fraternal people! The result of these events will be an insurmountable crack, the abyss in relations between the two nations! ”Listen to all such exhortations. Everywhere there is a monotonous refrain in the background: “Give in, resign, because it’s right when the Russians are inferior to the Ukrainians and to anyone.” Meanwhile, the abyss, which scares us, appeared much earlier. The essence of this abyss lies precisely in the fact that the Ukronatsis do not recognize the Russians, precisely as Russians, of equal rights to be the masters of Novorossia, to regard it as their homeland. And the depth of this abyss, already in advance, even before any Crimea prepared, turned out to be such that the masses of Ukrainians are ready to fight and kill in order for the Russians to accept and realize themselves as second-rate people, “guests”, and not masters. It is terrible to even imagine how many millions of Ukrainians must sacrifice themselves in order to fill this gulf to the top with their bodies. So much so that the Ukrainian would prefer to bite his tongue when there is a desire to bark in Russian. To prefer to snatch his own eye, if that eye looks askance at the Russian.
Alas, it was the Ukrainian Ponte who brought this war, the Ukrainian desire to "peremoga" over his neighbor, over his brother. Do not be these Ponte, and all the problems of today's Ukraine would be solved instantly. _Devol_ wrote this well:
“Suppose fiction (in the current situation) - instead of stupid sectarians, Russophobes, Nazis and outspoken autists in Kiev, there would be a government, which is a bit at least a BAD country. Well, yes, the country is crap, profukali all polymers, a sixth or even a fifth of the population escaped, a complete failure in the economy, a bankrupt country, and so on. But, I repeat - a pity. What to do?
Very simple. Russian language - the status of the state, because not FIG. The failure of the Ukrainization policy is obvious to everyone, only 10-15% of the outskirts population constantly speaks Ukrainian. Over the past three months I have watched a few hundred videos from Ukraine. Purely on the move of them - percent 15, and then with reservations. The usual layout: confused in the recently mastered "move" telehedikor or correspondent, talking with a man who sets out his thoughts in normal Russian. The reason is valid: Russian is a richer, more instrumental, more flexible language than a miserable pseudo-Polish office. On the Ukrainian Internet, the Russian crushed and threw the Ukrainian for a long time in the garbage.
Then why swim against the stream with such doom? In Austria and Switzerland, no one invents their own "language", everyone speaks Hochdeutsch. Probably because idiots.
Next - the same decentralization. In a weak country with a weak central government and a dying economy, this is a good chance to keep the state from slipping into anarchy, the era of "warlords." That is exactly what Yeltsin did in the beginning of 90-s in the Russian Federation, when there was a great risk of wholesale separatism (remember the Ural Republic of Rossel, the ideas of the Far Eastern Republic, Tatarstan, and so on).
And everything will be decided automatically. Any separatism automatically loses any, most illusory basis.
And the economic problems of Donbass are now concerned not with Kiev, but with the regional government. And it is responsible for the economy of the region. Conveniently? Yes, just fine. If you also appoint Gubarev as governor of Donbass, let him take it away. And then generally allow the election. So that they themselves choose, they themselves gulp, they themselves "rejoiced." Go bad. Kiev at what? Themselves have chosen fools for themselves, and that’s the mess. ” Etc.
Well, let's not be too cruel to the Ukrainians. They are D'Artagnan in white cloaks. Of course, Russians are to blame for everything. The real reason for this war is that the Russians no longer want to be second-rate people of their own accord, on their own initiative, neither in Ukraine nor anywhere else. “Are you used to the Russians bending themselves?” Do you think you have the right to criticize Russians, to look down on them? Well, prove it right with weapons in hand. Make us just so cool. How many of your corpses do you want to put in order to drive us out of this piece of land? And from that? Come closer, we have already shot a machine gun. " - This is the mood of the Russians: today - in New Russia, tomorrow - everywhere. Anyone who feels that he has the right to look at the Russians from the top down, to consider them “second-rate”, “guests” on the land where they live, will have to defend this right with arms. Or blown away, temper their ambitions, treat the Russians as absolutely equal citizens of their country. By themselves, without complaint, of free will, the Russians will not allow anyone to look down on themselves.
Why, for the first time, did this feeling arouse among Russians in the mass precisely in Ukraine, and not in Estonia, Kazakhstan, in the Caucasus, and anywhere else, where Russians face much greater pressure? The answer is paradoxical: precisely for the reason that Ukrainians are the closest to Russians, they are similar to Russians. When the right to domination and "first-class" makes an absolute stranger, "Other", under this right, at least theoretically, you can give some kind of justification. "He is so different from me, so incomprehensible and unknowable, that maybe it really is something stronger or better than me." But when a person approaches you with claims of superiority who practically does not differ from you, whom you see right through, “the same Russian, only from the side,” it is difficult to believe in the grounds for such a claim. At first, the Russians did not take this claim at all from the Ukrainians seriously, taking them for pretty village fools. - “What child would not play.” “But when they realized that“ they are serious, ”they became seriously angry. And now, for many Russians, a Ukrainian is “the same Russian, only worse”, “he who needs to be punished for impudence”. Thus, the Ukrainians turned out to be the “weak link” among the friendly front of nationalities, who consider themselves “better and more rightful than the Russians.” Ukrainians "took no initiative from the Russians," "not according to their ability," and thus substituted all the others. For now the new pattern of relations with the “Other”, tested on Ukrainians, will be used in relation to other “first-class” peoples. In all the other “Others” who dare to look down on Russians, Russians will gradually learn to see the same “Ukrainians” with “cheap Ponts” not supported by real power. The Russian Holy War for the return of Human Dignity is just beginning.
The worst thing about this stories the fact that Russia, the Russian public also contributed to the development of the Ukrainian catastrophe. Made its contribution to the deepening and "polishing" of the abyss, which the Ukrainians dug to isolate themselves from the Russians. She condoned the part of the Ukrainian society that used to consider Russians in Ukraine second-rate people. I mean here, of course, not patriots of Russia and volunteer militias, but the part of the Russian political and media field that condoned the sociopathies of the Ukrainian authorities, their unwillingness to negotiate, to seek a compromise with the Russians in New Russia. How was it possible for Ukrainians not to believe in their right to consider Russian citizens second-rate, if in Russia itself “all progressive public” assured them of the sanctity of this right? If Noviopskaya Russia did not provoke the Ukrainians, did not mislead them, did not justify their “holy right” to mock the Russians, then perhaps the Ukrainians would behave more intelligently. All the public in Russia, who cruelly deceived the Ukrainians, strengthening them in their desire to oppress the Russians, bears their share of responsibility for the blood shed, and someday, I am sure, Ukrainians will avenge anyone who framed them and sent them to death.
