The number of refugees from Ukraine to Russia is growing rapidly
According to the authors of the bill, representatives of the Federal Migration Service of Russia reported that at the moment the number of Ukrainian refugees exceeded 140 thousand people. According to the parliamentarians, it is necessary “to immediately take a set of measures that gives the FMS of Russia the right to establish a special simplified procedure for obtaining refugee status by citizens of Ukraine”.
At the beginning of the week, the situation in the city of Slavyansk, which had started shelling Ukrainian artillery, deteriorated sharply. The shells hit the children's polyclinic, the dormitory of the pedagogical university, and the bakery.
According to the “people's mayor” of Slavyansk Vyacheslav Ponomarev, “a decision was made to evacuate the civilian population, especially children.” He noted that "this is still about 500 children." “We should have transported the 200 children to the Crimea, however, because the railway station in Donetsk is closed, we are looking for additional ways,” Ponomarev added.
On Wednesday, representatives of the international children's center "Artek" in the Crimea reported their readiness to accommodate children from Slavyansk. According to the camp's deputy director, Alexander Kosykh, “children are not to blame for those games with weaponsthat lead adults. "
At the same time, the Crimean authorities are ready to provide financial and humanitarian assistance to refugees in the republic.
