Kalashnikov Concern buys a controlling stake in the Sintez-PD group of companies

27
According to the concern press center "Kalashnikov", a preliminary agreement was recently signed on the acquisition of the 51% stake in Sintez-PD. The amount of the transaction is estimated at 250 million rubles, it is planned to close it by the end of June 2014. For financing, the group’s own and loan funds will be used.

Sintez-PD is the only Russian manufacturer of metal products using MIM technology (technology of injection molding of metal powders), working on raw materials of a domestic manufacturer.

“Partnership with Sintez-PD” is an important step to modernize the production of the entire enterprise. Now 90% of parts are produced and refined manually. Old technologies are used that carry serious time and labor costs. Thanks to the experience of Sintech-PD, we will be able to cut the production time of the part by half and reduce its cost price by more than 40%, as well as improve the quality characteristics and increase production volumes, ”said Alexei Krivoruchko, general director of the concern.

“The effectiveness of MIM technology is highly regarded by leading weapons manufacturers around the world. We are pleased that our company will find such a reliable partner as the Kalashnikov Concern. I am sure that the introduction of a new technological chain will allow us to bring production to a new level, ”said Sergey Trofimov, General Director of Sintez-PD Group of Companies.

The Kalashnikov concern must conquer the whole world of armaments, as the legendary machine gun did.

Now the Kalashnikovs will be from pressed metal powder? How will this affect the reliability of the design?

I immediately remembered silumin water taps ... All the same, forging and turning and milling work seem more reliable.

In theory, positively, in life, we will see! Who shot the PM "novik" 60s and "novik" 90s understands ochem speeches!
By the way, I read the AK receiver of the first issues was made by milling 1.5KG discs, since welding and riveting did not hold, then I learned how to rivet!

For those who did not shoot please explain.
For example, in the army I only shot from the AKS-74.

Novik means a completely new barrel, there is no barrel wear and frame curvature (the letter H is on the bottom of the barrel, Pistols with characteristics worse are marked 1 2 3) accuracy and range are even slightly higher than those stated in the performance characteristics!
So the old PM - "1" (which was massively converted into pravmatics during the struggle of the alcoholic) have characteristics BETTER than the PM "n" of the latest editions! Although it is believed that more "advanced" technologies are used in their production.

            Thank you.
Let's hope that new technologies won't spoil Izhmash's products.
            The truth is this:

The enterprise is equipped with modern equipment unique to Russia made in Germany and the USA, the basis of which are injection machines, extraction plants and sintering furnaces.

especially in light of recent events.
All the same, the machines on which weapons are made must be done with us. It is unacceptable to become dependent on anyone.

Yeah, weapon parts will now print on 3-D printers ... And what is the resource of such a weapon?
If low, then it is only for killers to punch weapons, for one or two shots.

Good news! Cost reduction and quality improvement!

Does this mean that silumin alloys will be widely used in the designs of the famous brand? Although MIM technology seems to work with iron-based materials. Again, the second question arises: will these technologies not affect the strength and reliability of Kalashnikov assault rifles, precisely those qualities for which he is appreciated? But working in the old fashioned way is also not suitable. It is necessary to go forward. Although the production of small arms is a rather conservative business, foreign arms companies are not in a hurry to introduce innovations in their own countries, for example, "Haim", which is famous for its quality in the West, and in our country, prefers to traditional technologies.

Well, here the development of technology decides a lot. Indeed, new technologies are good in that they constantly improve the final product. As an example, LEDs for lighting.

You confuse socialism with capitalism. Kalash will be lower in cost. This means that if the selling price remains the same, and why should it go down, there are no competitors, then the manufacturer's profits will simply increase. This will delight the shareholders of the JSC, and they will increase the bonuses to the management at the end of the year, that's all the love. This will not affect you or us in any way, unless you are, of course, a shareholder of JSC Concern Kalashnikov.

Those interested in the durability of parts for the new technology themselves would be easy to find data. MIM materials have an average strength of 95-97 percent of conventional forged materials. Silumin has nothing to do with it. The acquired technology is just that good because it uses a wide range of metal powders from tin and lead, ending with alloyed and stainless steels.

I don’t know, maybe I do not understand something, but in my opinion the task before the "Kalashnikov" is not only to apply advanced technologies, but above all to increase the range of an aimed shot while maintaining weight and other characteristics and reduce the influence of all possible factors on automatic fire, i.e. to increase its accuracy or reduce dispersion, to put it another way. All applied technologies must be viewed from this angle. Does the newly introduced technology help to improve the combat qualities of weapons? That's what's important.

The Kalashnikov Concern OJSC is faced with the task of increasing its profit and reducing costs, one of the ways of new technologies that can reduce costs and staff. If, in order to please the shareholders, it will be necessary to completely stop the issue of machines, then it will be stopped, well, or reduced. If new technologies somewhat reduce the durability of products, then this is even a plus, since the order will automatically increase in the future. That you are like children, honestly, capitalism has been in the yard for almost 25 years, and you are still there. This is a business, a private business - "the owner will come, put things in order."

If in pistols this technology steers and drives at the cost of the product. In machine guns, it’s not very clear, apparently the main parts of the mechanisms will be done in the traditional way. Yes, the technology does not yet allow the use of aluminum, incl. probably will not be silumin.

In a machine gun from powder it makes sense to make parts of the bolt group that have a complex configuration. Only this is not so simple, you need to select the composition of the powders and the heat treatment regimes. We must not allow the loss of reliability of the weapon, it takes time to develop the technology. Theoretically, powder can be made more durable parts, the main thing is to choose the right components and sintering modes.
