Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the seizure of a bus with OSCE representatives in Slavyansk
"At the entrance to Slavyansk from Kramatorsk, unknown persons stopped a bus with 13 passengers. Among them were seven representatives of the OSCE, five representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the driver of the vehicle," the ministry said on Friday evening.
“The terrorists took the bus carrying passengers to the territory of the UBSU in Slavyansk. Now the captured citizens are there,” the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said.
The ministry said that negotiations are ongoing with those who have seized the bus.
Earlier on Friday, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine announced the loss of communication with members of the OSCE military verification mission in the Donetsk region.
"People's Mayor" of Slavyansk Vyacheslav Ponomarev confirms information about the detention of the bus with the Ukrainian military and civilians. In the bus, according to his data, there were prohibited ammunition.
"We really detained the bus, banned explosive bullets and other ammunition were immediately found there, we are now sorting out who these people were who were riding in it. So far, we can’t confirm that OSCE observers are really among them, because we haven’t established we will check their ownership, "he told Interfax by telephone.
Ponomarev said that the detainees are in Slavyansk in the building of the SBU, which is controlled by “anti-Maidan”.
