NTV journalist captured in Ukraine
On Tuesday morning, the producer of the Central Television program Stepan Chirich went to the city of Pershotravinsk on the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region to shoot a story about the visit of the Protestant priest Bob Larsson. On the NTV website it is reported that in the morning of Wednesday, Chirin stopped communicating.
It is noted that on the day of Chirich’s disappearance, the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine reported the detention of two men who “videotaped district administrations and police departments on the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions” “with the help of special equipment”.
Later, the Ukrainian Security Service commented on the disappearance of journalists. As it turned out, they were detained by officers. Representatives of the SBU noted that journalists allegedly filmed strategic objects on a hidden camera, which was mounted in glasses.
“During the filming, foreign citizens used a technical device camouflaged for glasses with a built-in high-resolution video camera, which has signs of special technical means of secretly obtaining information,” they said.
Information Agency "Vesti" suggested that the journalist and the local operator from Lugansk got “under the hand” because of the sensational action “Catch the separatist”, in which supporters of the junta promise everyone who gives the Russian saboteur to the authorities, up to 10 thousand hryvnia. Most likely, someone from those who want to earn extra money has directed the special Dnepr battalion to journalists.
According to the official version, a group of two people engaged in espionage. “They behave like journalists, but on their computer media, we found classified information of a military nature,” said Yury Bereza, head of the Dnepr Special Forces battalion. - There is the location of our air defense points in the east of our area. Why did the journalists shoot the air defense points? ”
According to the chief of Chirich, Vadim Takmenev, the arrest of the journalist had no basis. “They had a task to film sectarians,” he said. - And there air defense? We sent documents to the Security Service of Ukraine, so that they understand. "
It is worth noting that this is not the first case of the detention of journalists of the Russian media in Ukraine. On April 16, a film crew was detained in the Kharkiv region under the direction of a special correspondent of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Evgeny Reshetnev. True, they were released the next day.
