Expelled from Kiev as a result of the February coup, the President of Ukraine made an emergency statement in Rostov-on-Don. It is devoted to the situation that is developing in the eastern part of Ukraine.
“The people of Ukraine will never accept dictates, especially the dictates of nationalists,” said Viktor Yanukovych in Rostov-on-Don, commenting on the situation in eastern Ukraine.
He believes that Ukraine has already entered with one foot in a civil war and asks the military not to carry out the “criminal orders” of the current leadership of the country, not to shoot at the Ukrainian people.
“As commander in chief, I would like to appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine - do not carry out criminal orders. Do not shoot at the people: they will not forgive you for this, ”said Viktor Yanukovych, addressing security officials.
“You will be held criminally liable,” Yanukovych told current heads of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
He believes that for Ukraine "not the early elections are important, but a broad dialogue."
“The United States bears its share of responsibility for unleashing a civil war in Ukraine, they grossly intervene in what is happening, indicate what to do,” he said.
Ukrainian security officials decided on a special operation in eastern Ukraine after meeting with the director of the CIA, said Yanukovych. According to him, the United States is directly involved in the events in Ukraine, they acted through their diplomatic capabilities, as well as special services.
"CIA Director Brennan actually authorized the use weapon and provoked bloodshed in Ukraine, ”said Viktor Yanukovych.
“The country is inexorably moving to bankruptcy,” he said.
“Take care of the unity of Ukraine,” Yanukovych addressed the people of the country.
The press conference was also attended by Vitaliy Zakharchenko, who led the Ukrainian Interior Ministry under Viktor Yanukovych, and Viktor Pshonka, who headed the country's Prosecutor General’s Office.
Now it's up to the Security Council and Churkin. After that, the decisions are transferred directly to the Kremlin. Putin has the right to use troops, it is likely that such a situation will help the Kiev authorities to make the right decision and not risk using force. However, in the evolving situation, any provocation is capable of starting the process - and it certainly won't rust for the provocateurs.
