Superfinal of the Wargaming.net League kicks off on April 4
14 teams will compete for a total prize pool of $ 300 000 and the title of the best virtual tankers in the world.
3 April 2014 - Wargaming is pleased to announce the completion of preparations for the start of the Wargaming.net League Super Final. The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place on April 4 in 12: 00 CET at the Multikino Zlote Tarasy cinema (Warsaw, Poland).
“Over the first year, more 200 000 eSports athletes participated in the Wargaming.net League contests,” said Mohammed Fadl, head of Wargaming eSports division in Europe and North America. “The teams that reached the Superfinal have already proved their skills and now they are facing the most important battle of the year.”
According to the draw, the finalists were divided into two groups. The six teams that scored the most points in their regions (Virtus.pro, JL Sports, Fnatic, Na'Vi, PVP Super Friends, ARETE) automatically went to the second stage of the tournament. The remaining eight teams will have to compete for access to the second round. In "Group A" will fight Synergy, Team WUSA, SIMP and Lemming Train. In Group B, NOA, U Are Dead, The RED Rush: Unity and Energy Pacemaker.
All matches of the tournament will be broadcast on Twitch.
Wargaming is preparing numerous prizes for fans who came to support their favorite teams in Warsaw, and those who will follow the main tank battles of the year on the Internet. Along with invite and bonus codes for the game, fans of the World of Tanks from the CIS will have the opportunity to win one of the Type 59 Chinese tanks that will be played during the Russian broadcast of the Super Final in Twitch.
The championship is organized with the support of the Warsaw city authorities. The tournament is sponsored by PayPal and Razer and Alienware.
