The US Navy formed the first squadron of the latest DRLO aircraft E-2D Advanced Hawkeye

With the commissioning of the next long-range radar detection and control aircraft (AIR), the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye 25 Squadron (Tigertails) became the first operational unit of the US Navy fully equipped with these newest aircraft, reports wvec.com 27 in March.

Airplanes of this type are called “digital defenders” capable of detecting targets at long ranges and controlling combat operations of naval forces and assets. The aircraft are manufactured by Northrop Grumman and have a crew of five. The ceremony of entering the aircraft into the squadron was held at the base of the Navy in Norfolk.

Yes, no barge is needed, there is a ship version of the S-300 F and S-300 FM hi

Why are you saying all this? Yes there is, but only on three missile cruisers, and then what, they can’t be in the Black Sea ??? The conversation was about this, and throw out the excess of inappropriate emotions somewhere else, for example, in the gym on a punching bag angry , or in a bathhouse with insidious temptresses wassat, or other options of your choice.

Many authors describe the war in Lebanon 1983
In the 1982 air battles over Lebanon, AWACS aircraft have repeatedly successfully guided Israeli F-15s and Phantoms. In December 1983, one Hawkeye was shot down over the Mediterranean by a Soviet crew of the S-200 air defense missile system, which was in Syria on a "business trip." The missiles were launched at a range of 190 km.

You can gloat as much as you like, but we may need small AWACS even more than the Yankees, we want aircraft carriers, and without AWACS the capabilities of an aircraft carrier are sharply reduced. And a light starter in large numbers is also needed! Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes

I agree with you. They have many different types of them, both large and smaller, and we have fewer than theirs and only large ..... maybe we should have an additional smaller size but in large quantities ... I think that this will give greater reliability our air defense and missile defense systems hi

Looking at the fairing of the antenna, I can assume that as originally there was a wave channel in the decimeter range, it remained. And this means no height measurement and low resolution in azimuth (the ratio of the wavelength to the aperture of the aperture). From the point of view of active radar, there are no cardinal steps. An improvement in RTR is possible, however, according to such data, guidance cannot be performed. Therefore, as there was target designation, it remained, but for aiming, turn on (your fighter or bomber) your radar and now you are not stealth.

Well, you and the artists! S-300F range of 5-75km, S-300FM range of 5-93km, S-300 is the farthest ground option, for example C-300B4 has a range of about 300km! Even an E-2C AWACS aircraft provides maximum target detection at a distance of about 540 km (aircraft) and 258 km (cruise missiles), depending on the size of the target and external conditions, the detection range can be up to 740 km. So the sea-based S-300 has no chance of getting it (and the E-2 does not make sense to approach it)! The best thing here is ship fighters with long-range missiles.

For bananas? Actually, this is "a thorn in the ass ... of the Russian Air Defense and Air Force."
Unlike previous versions, the new Edwanst Hawkeye will be able to coordinate air strikes against air, land and sea surface targets. According to T. Weiss, Northrop Grumman's vice president of RLDN and Joint Command and Control Programs, "the E-2D will allow the military to take large amounts of data from various sources and synthesize that data for active reconnaissance."
What was not in the predecessors.

Intelligence (RTR) was also with the predecessors (especially in the Israeli versions). Ground targets were also detected. High range resolution was provided by linear frequency modulation. On the Quantum prototype (consider the analogue) we tried the PCM, but refused in favor of the linear-frequency one as well. He held the results of the tests of the Quantum radar on the ground (the results of the fisheries) in his hands (my classmate at the school was in this topic on Kutuzovsky). The synthesis of information from various sources is desirable, given out as reality.

The NSA also collects a huge amount of information from various sources, only with the synthesis of neprukh, it still lies in the storerooms, Crimea is an example of this. And this machine is still for the promotion of "democracy" in the "banana" republics, well, maybe for the self-affirmation or complacency of American exclusivity and for their force, so do not underestimate our Russian air defense and missile defense system. The invulnerable also spoke about their stealth, but the Serbs denied it.

An extremely stupid statement. With the same success it can be said that the SU-34 is suitable only for "enforcing peace" of the mandarin states in the Transcaucasus.

The invulnerables also spoke about their stealth, but the Serbs refuted this

Serbs in the month of not the most active air strikes took out 65-70% of the industrial infrastructure. As a result: Kosovo is an independent territory, Milosevic in the next world drinks rakia with Saddam and Muammar, Serbia itself is rapidly moving into the EU. Downed F-117 against this background, kaneshna, then still "ACHIEVEMENT".

Journalists are allowed to confuse electronic warfare and RTR. About the drone planted in the Crimea, in general, an anecdote. Why wasn't it shown to the public? "A-base" is not a complex, but only a component of the complex, in fact it is nothing more than a re / broadcast station.

Deck aircraft for long-range radar detection and control (AWACS). The development of the aircraft was assigned by A.S. Yakovlev Design Bureau in 1979. The creation of the aircraft in different years was supervised by A.S. Yakovlev, A.A. Levinsky, S.A. Yakovlev and A.N. Dondukov, and since January 1991 and Prior to the closure of the project, the chief designer of the Yak-44 theme was V.A. Mitkin. The prototype of the aircraft was the American aircraft AWACS E-2C Hawkeye. By November 1979, the OKB had prepared a technical proposal for the design of an aircraft based on land airfields or on the deck of an aircraft carrier. Considered two versions of the radio-technical complex - "Fakel", with the placement of the radar inside the fuselage (in the bow and stern) and E-700 with a circular antenna on a pylon above the fuselage. In March 1980, at a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the USSR Navy SG Gorshkov, a decision was made to create a variant with the Fakel RTK. The second option was chosen for further design

If we want to have balanced aircraft carriers in terms of aviation groupings, then we cannot do without AWACS planes. Helicopters do not count, we have no analogue (Yak-44 is a project), so we need to study, watch and try to create better than theirs.

What can I say? The United States systematically modernizes the eyes and ears of its AUG, bringing them to meet the requirements of today and tomorrow, and at the same time does not forget to create a reserve for the day after tomorrow. Something they get, something is not quite and this is understandable. decisions are made by people and people tend to make mistakes. At least each of the US Armed Forces is trying to get everything it needs to maintain the combat readiness of each service at the required level, regardless of where the wind blows on their political Olympus. This would be the diligence of the Russian Armed Forces. Those. think about the future, not forgetting about the current day. And then there are too many hopes for "will." Another would be confidence in what is already there. And finally, to clearly define the aircraft carrier fleet. If it is needed, which is in general a big question, then you need to follow the path of the United States creating balanced AUGs in terms of forces and means, and if not, then do not bother in vain, but focus on the key elements of the Russian Armed Forces. The economy is not rubber, everything will not pull.
